11:40 a.m. Michigan State vs. Georgia - Ten seed Georgia faces 7 seed MSU, one of our non-con foes from early in the season. On TruTV.
12:40 p.m. Northern Iowa vs. Wyoming - Fifth seed UNI got something of a raw deal, first by being seeded 5th (despite a #10 ranking, an RPI of 12, and winning the conference tournament), and then by being sent out to Seattle to play. With a win, they have the delightful prospect of facing either Louisville or UC Irvine (with the tallest player in D1). On TBS.
1:45 p.m. Wichita State vs. Indiana - The 7th seed Shockers will face Tom Crean's bunch in Omaha. Indiana has had an up and down season with impressive wins over Butler, Ohio State and Maryland, but doesn't play all that well away from Bloomington (5-9 on the season in road and neutral games). WSU would likely face Kansas with a win. On CBS.
3:40 p.m. Valpo vs. Maryland - Despite going 25-5 against D1 competition (28-5 with non-D1 games) and winning the HL regular season and tournament championship, Valpo got a 13 seed and will face the Big 10's second best team in Columbus. The winner gets a game closer to the prospect of facing Kentucky in the Sweet 16. Yikes! On TNT.
8:15 p.m. Normal Community vs. Geneva - The state 4A high school semifinals are tonight in Peoria, and Loyola reportedly has interest in Normal's Alex Peacock, a 6'7" forward who can play the 2, 3, or 4. Bollingbrook plays Stevenson in the other semi at 6:00 p.m. The winners play for the state title tomorrow. On Comcast Sports Net.
My pick for an upset today: Davidson vs. Iowa. But then again, what do I know? I had Iowa State in the Elite 8 or higher on every bracket I filled out.
