I am tpguy on Redbirdfan.net and know Porter from his ISU days. The success couldn't happen to a better guy. Loyola is my 2nd favorite team in the MVC and I enjoy following your team and especially Porter.

I know I speak for many of us on our board when I say Porter is a class guy. It's too bad he inherited such a bad program at ISU when he came on board.

I think the future looks bright for both of our BB programs

Thanks for the kind words, tpguy. I won't speak for everyone, but there was a lot of concern by some Loyola fans when we lost a lot of players to transfer, both when Coach Moser first took over and again after our first year in the MVC. Some fans were becoming concerned and impatient with the uneven and slow progress. It turns out there was a methodology and a clearer plan behind it than some of us could see from the outside, and Coach Moser has earned a lot of respect and changed some minds with the approach behind a really good 2014-15 season. The Custer transfer is a good indication that the big step up isn't just a one year anomaly.

It's great to finally have some positive energy. That will help with recruiting too. All the negative comments from the fans about Moser and Loyola had to have an impact.

Many at ISU thought Porter needed at least one more year

One other note about Porter. When he first came to ISU,and school was about to start he stood outside our largest dorm and helped students move their stuff up to their rooms.

TPGUY......I thought ISU was the best team in the MVC at the end of the year. They just didnt seem to know what to do with the thought they would be MVC champs and couldnt close the deal
