...is losing to Tulsa, late in the 2nd half. Not a good night for the Valley if they lose that.

Was not a good game in general. Tulsa is a good team, but this shouldn't have happened. Our 3 point D was bad and we allowed A LOT of wide open looks. I think Fred being hurt didn't help. He tried to go and had a nice spurt at the end of the half, but then didn't play much in the 2nd half. His ankle was obviously bothering him. It was also the first road game for our FR and they struggled. But they're FR, they'll get there.

They beat us, but we're better than that and will be.

Tough loss. Tulsa looked good from what I saw, and Wichita did not play well. They need to find a way to rest Van Vleet strategically and get him fully healthy.

Pretty surprised with this result. Tulsa is not supposed to be very good this year. But, like SubGod said, first road game for a lot of Shockers. They have a young, but talented, bench. I think they'll be fine.

However, I can see them dropping a few more non-conf games (Xavier and Utah stand out...but NMSU and UNLV will also be tough).

Still see no reason why they won't run away with the MVC.

Why Eleven ?? Are we that bad --the league , that is ?? I feel the opposite--LUC, Ill St Evansville and NIU are improving and Shockers just may be not as great as they usually are. My take is we are catching up to a great team, but one that can be had late.

I'm not sure why Tulsa was picked 4th in the AAC. They finished 2nd last year and returned something like 97% of their scoring and minutes from that team. They have 9 seniors. This won't be a bad loss and the FR will learn from it.

I'm hoping we don't play Fred this weekend against Emporia State and get him as healthy as possible for Orlando.

Baker and Fred are still the two best players in the league. And, although young, WSU has a very talented bench. It may not be as much of a cakewalk as originally predicted, but I still see them winning the league by a couple games.

ISUr, Evansville, UNI and LUC will all be very competitive throughout though.

I'm starting to have doubts about Illinois State. They would surely be ticketed for road unis on Thursday in St. Louis if they didn't have Akoon-Purcell, who bailed them out with a last second game winner at home against Morehead State.
