Dildy has been hired as an assistant at Mizzou under Kim Anderson. I'm happy for Dildy he moves up to a bigger team. It always sucks to have to replace a coach though.

That's a bummer. Congrats to E! Good recruiter with deep Chicago ties. Mullins seems to have been filling the lead recruiter role nicely on several guys. Will be interesting to see if Moser hires more of a Chicago recruiter or X and O guy to replace him.

Loyola needs to be able to retain assistant coaches if we want to build a much stronger program. Perhaps they've done so already? We only lost one this year on the men's basketball side.

What really concerns me is if the assistants that have landed the likes of Chastain, Richardson/Custer, Andres (however briefly), Krutwig, etc. get away from us. We've arguably made the most progress of any program in the league and really improved the talent level at nearly every position over the past 2-3 years.

Takes a lot of money. Big 12 assistants are going to make 3-4x what a Loyola assistant makes.

Unfortunately we will probably always lose assistants to bigger teams. I really wonder what it would take to get one of the top coaches from the Chicago public league teams to be our assistant.

Hunte-Bunte makes an important point which begs the following--IF we want to play with and against the BIG BOYS , we must find a way to pay our coaches as they do. We are now approaching a crossroad --Coach wil get the right guy--The school MUST do its part with ALL our men's Coaches --AND then come the gals !!!

Which branch in the road will LUC take???

For what it's worth the last two coaches we've lost have all gone to make serious career moves. We have assistants leaving for Iowa State and Mizzou gigs rather than to other mid major/lateral moves. I'd be curious to see how we compare to other schools in conference in terms of turnover. Selfishly it is a bummer but we are a part of the career ladder. The fact that we have assistants climbing has to bode well for our application pool, and shows we've been doing something right in my opinion.

Good luck to coach Dildy. I'll play my "broken record" again. I'd like to see the hiring of a coach who can develop and recruit the big men. This becomes more important with Cameron Krutwig in the wings.
