Every year it seems there is some drama around the Salukis, and more often than not, they come into Gentile and win. Whether it's players mysteriously suspended, stuck in a bus on the highway for 12 hours, or whatever, they have good players and they play hard. So, I hope no one is taking them lightly because of all their injuries. I've been guilty before. Hinson loves playing that up and then acting like he doesn't talk about it. Whatever he does works because they are still very competitive. Lloyd and Fletcher are very good, and they're bigger than our guards. We better play hard or we are going to get Sycamore'd in a repeat of two weeks ago.

After finishing 0-3 against them last year I’d hope we come out swinging!

And there's that.

It was rumored they’ve had so many injuries that they held open tryouts just to get enough bodies to practice against. Their big center Bol is out for the year now, but they still have some size and athleticism. Definitely not a team we can just walk into the gym and expect to win no matter how we play. I don’t think think you can say that about any team in the conference this year.

I was listening to Saturday's ISU game at SIU, and during my 20 minute drive, the Salukis erased a 14-point second-half deficit against the Redbirds. SIU ended up beating ISU 74-70.

What, no public transportation available? And how many people were in your gas guzzling, carbon spewing, climate changing, Trump loving car? I'm guessing one.

Al Gore and I are deeply disappointed in you. Try to think about the environmental consequences of your choices...for the children.

For whatever reason, we always struggle with SIU. Since joining the Valley, we're 2-7 vs them. The only team we've done worse against in conference is Wichita (our record vs ISUr is also 2-7). If we want to compete for the Valley title, we need to win all our remaining home games. Hoping for a big crowd turnout to help with that!

Apropos of... nothing, I just noticed that the first initials of the Ramblers' starting lineup:

Townes
Richardson
Ingram
Custer
Krutwig

Spell out TRICK.

I haven't figured out the significance of this yet, but it must be some kind of sign from God.
