One thing we’ve learned about Porter is that he’s a system and defense first coach. Which is good because that’s what successful mid-major programs are built on. If you’re not fitting in the system, You’re not going to see the floor much until you Understand your role and execute your role within the system.

I wanted to share a little bit on info about the season ticket holder appreciation event that was held after the UNI game in Irelands. There was a really nice turn out for the event.. i would say there had to be 10-20% more people there than last year. Same deal as last year as they had free pizza from Albertos and you got 2 drink tickets for each seat that you have.

Coach came down after addressing the media and gave another nice little speech to the group. He didn't really share anything new or surprising.

-you should be really proud of this University for doing it the right way... high character guys
-coaches are working really hard on recruits, "but I can't share any specifics on unsigned guys"
-"i'm telling the players what i'm about to tell you...let's take this one game at a time, lets not get ahead of ourselves"
-"we have to keep improving if we want to do this"
-"you can't score... you can't defend anyone.... but you can tell and bring your friends to the last 4 games"

All in all it was a nice little event... but marketing for it seemed poor. I was really surprised about how many season ticket holders had NOT heard about the event. Although, as I said earlier there was a pretty good turn out for the event... so maybe marketing was just fine.
