We will forever be a different school once the name Loyola shows up on the board today as part of Selection Sunday. No longer will it be "it's been xx years since the last tournament." I've been a Rambler since the late 80s, so like many of my generation (and those who are younger), I've only known mostly lean years.

But that changes today. And so I wanted to take a quick moment to give a shout out those on this board - all of whom have been far more passionate and supportive of Loyola than I have over the years - for keeping this going. It's hard to support an underachieving team/school, but it's even harder when it's a relatively small group who keep believing year after year. There's plenty of room on the bandwagon.

Each of you probably have your version of what your low moment was supporting Loyola - mine were the days of walking out of an empty Rosemont Horizon into 12 degree weather following another 23 point loss.

But that all changes today.

I didn't have a car when I was in school, and I had to take the Red Line to the Blue Line to River Road, and then get a Pace bus to the Rosemont Horizon or walk from the El to the arena (2.5 miles). Many times it was well below 20 degrees. I remember only a few crowds of more than 1500 people in the building that held 18000.
