Hi guys, U of M alum here, just wanted to take a second to assure you all that not all U of M fans are jerks. I would assume most schools have a segment of their fanbase that are socially inept and lack manners, and it's not fair to judge the school or students just based on that. The site you visited isn't a real good representation, I'd say. You'll find more rational fans at www.umhoops.com.

I can tell you that the literate U of M fans aren't overlooking this game at all. Anyone following college hoops knows Loyola is legit and has an excellent chance to win this game. It's obviously the Ramblers didn't get the respect they deserved from the committee and should have had a higher seed.

Obviously I want Michigan to win this game, but it will be somewhat of a consolation to see Loyola play for the title if the Wolverines lose. If that happens, best of luck in the title game!

I really appreciate all of the UofM fans that have recently posted here. I think what it comes down to is that if you have a big enough of a group of people... you're gonna have a couple of screwballs. Unfortunately... those couple of bad seeds really stick out and grab your attention. I believe that a great majority of M fans are a terrific basketball fans and people.

I am going to agree and disagree with jdmiller. mgoblog may attract more trolls because it is easier to post. However the content of the authors is second to none. If you are a stats nerd and/or love play breakdown mgoblog is the place to go. My knowledge especially on football is an order magnitude better because these guys will take the time out to write tutorials. I actually know what a Duo is and why that is still a power and not a spread concept. I used to think I knew something because I could tell you the difference between a 4-3 over verses an under. I knew nothing. The other forums did not become so popular that the radio stations invited them to run their show. Look at how they did their final preview of Loyola. While 99% of the world goes "Yay team", they break down by usage. They don't just look at 2's and 3's, they look at what is unassisted verses not. What is the team efficiency when a key player is in or out. We have no impact on the game. However, I enjoy the content mgoblog generates as I get the entertainment to discuss the game. There are a ton of coaches and former coaches who comment. I love the rah rah rah of being a fan. But it is so much more interesting including in defeat because these guys took the time out to educate us. That all said everything that has been said and look forward to a competitive game. If we lose I know someone deserving is going on, not a crummy coach whose only skill is recruiting 5 star one and doners.
