If he visited FSU this past weekend, when they hosted and beat Alabama and the campus was likely insanely fun, I’m kinda not feeling great about our chances here. That might be a bigger upset than the FSU win over Bama. Guess we’ll see.

With Sancomb going to Liberty are we really aware of any other class of 26 targets? Most of the guys that’s we’ve offered are committed elsewhere (outside of Loyola securing their big man of the future in Kreager), so who else are we considering at this point? Obviously the numbers change quickly, and Drew wisely saves a few spots for transfers, just seems like they could add a swing, or a body that could play somewhere 2-4 (SG-PF).

Had nothing going on this evening, so I went down a bit of a rabbit hole. According to Verbal Commits Loyola still has 14 open offers: 6 point guards, 4 shooting guards, 1 small forward, 1 power forward, and 2 centers.

Point Guards
  • Jordan Skyers - Verbal commits tweeted about Loyola offering June 2024, but the post they're referencing has been deleted. Loyola also didn't appear on the list of schools with "offers and interested" he posted in August 2025. So don't think this one's happening
  • Rajan Roberts - Received an offer and visited Loyola in mid-June of 2025. Discussed recruitment and other offers in a with Zagsblog on 8/10/25. Said of Loyola "“I’ve been to Loyola. I got that offer too. It was great. The coaches were great. Great experience, just family oriented environment. Everything about it was just great. I like Loyola a lot.”
  • Marquise Clark - Local Product out of Whitney Young, offered in August 2024. Not on his list of official visits (Western Michigan, Purdue Fort Wayne, SIU, Ball State, Iona, Valpo) on 8/17/25, has tweeted a commitment ate of 10/15/25. Also does not seem promising
  • Julius Price - Has picked up offers from Michigan and Texas State since Loyola offered in early July. Can't find any other info on visits or his recruitment beyond another Zagsblog post from May before Loyola's offer
  • Jachai Cantave - Picked up additional offers from UIC and UTSA. Visited New Mexico State in late August. No other news on visits or commitment date.
  • Mason Magee - Visited Arizona State (is from AZ) in mid September. No other available news on visits or commitment date.

Shooting Guards
  • Jaxson Terry - Visited Loyola over the weekend per his instagram. We were his most recent offer and it doesn't look as if he's posted about any other visits. Not able to find any other info about his recruiting process.
  • Lincoln Williams - Top rated recruit in Illinois. No new offers since Loyola. Per post on his Twitter on 8/11 he had a visit schedule to Arizona State in late August. North Texas and Southern Illinois also to get visits. Says those schools and SLU seem to be prioritizing him.
  • Julian Washington - Announced a final four of Dayton, Cincinnati, Northern Iowa, and FAU on 9/13.
  • Jacob Williford - Picked up fresh offers from Nevada, Fresno State, and Pacific. Apparently young for his class he also announced in June he was reclassifying to the class of 2027. Feel like usually you see guys announce moving forward a class. It will be interesting to see if Loyola's still interested in him for 2027.

Forwards
  • Jahadi White - The PF brother, higher ranked prospect of the two. Still uncommitted. New basketball offer from Kansas State, but also has football offers from Washington State and Sacramento State. Also seems to be drawing interest from Iowa, Iowa State, and Mizzou for football. Did have an Iowa basketball offer as well.
  • Jamison White - The SF brother. Committed to Penn State on 9/3.

Centers
  • Ryan Kreager - Committed to Loyola on July 23rd.
  • Aliou Dioum - Was scheduled to visit but cancelled after Kreager's commitment. Has a Top 6 of Wake Forrest, West Virgnia, Mississippi State, UNLV, Illinois, and Syracuse. Appears to have visited the first four.
  • Jackson Sheffield - Has visits scheduled to Vanderbilt, Alabama, Maryland, Mississippi State, and Virginia Tech.

Additionally, a fascinating piece I missed yesterday by CBS's Matt Norlander on the current recruitment landscape. Of course it's mostly about the money (or perceived lack there of) being put into most high major basketball programs, and why that's slowing down the market. Also didn't realize 2026 was considered a "weaker" class by prospect standards.
