I feel like changing your top assistant's title to associate head coach is the number one sign that even the head coach knows he'll be getting the kiss of death soon.

Adding speculation without justification (hibbity jibbity and a ratta tat tat), maybe that means he knows Milt is going to be out all year.

Congratulations to D-Rob! I've been fortunate in that I've had a few conversations with him, and he's one of the best people I've met at Loyola. Really happy for him.

Is there a difference in his role now that he is an associate head coach? Is it any different or mostly just a title?

It's mostly title, but it's a show of respect as well. I think when it comes to other job opportunities it can't hurt having that title as well. It also tells everyone who the head coaches right hand man is. I know we no longer have one at WSU with Chris Jans taking the Bowling Green job, but he'd earned it and had been our associate head coach for a few years.

It might carry a little weight when recruiting as well. That's just a guess though. It's always a bigger deal to a recruit when the head man is making a visit to watch or talk to ya, but it's possible that having the associate head coach might be a little more impressive on a young man than just another member of the staff. Again, complete guess and it wouldn't surprise me if I'm way off base.

Alright that makes sense and I could see it being a step up and a step for a way for a coach to advance his career.
