WSU and Creighton are in on him. Maybe Milt should give him a call and let him know that LU is a nice landing place for KU transfers.

I sincerely doubt that WSU is really that interested. He doesn't really fit the type of guard that we have, or are bringing in. I know he was a Top 50 recruit but he doesn't buy in on D like 3G requires and he's full of himself. Plus, his father is way too involved. I officiated him in HS and while he can shoot and has decent handles, I'm not sure he's capable of checking his ego at the door at that comes from his dad who would whine all game. So did Frankamp. If he missed a shot, they'd both cry that he was fouled. If he got his pocket picked, he had to be fouled. Connor actually turned to one of my partners once and said, "I'm Connor, I should get that call." He truly feels he's above everyone else.

This is a kid who was going to at least start early at KU and probably see minutes. But he and his dad think he has to be THE man. That's not going to happen at WSU. I do think he can be a good player with the right system if he can learn to be less about himself all the time and I think he could be a very good Valley player. Personally, I think Creighton is an ideal fit for him as his D is weak and his best bet is to chuck up threes all day long and that's pretty much the Creighton game plan. I will be absolutely shocked if he ends up in Wichita. Plus, if he does that, he's walking on for at least a year and a half as we are full and then some on scholarships and have an abundance of very good guards coming in. He has said the reason he's transferring is because he wants more playing time than he'll get at KU, and WSU has the better backcourt... If he couldn't beat out Nadir Tharpe for time, how is he going to beat out the PGs WSU has?

You are sincerely wrong.

He has to walk on right? The Shocker fans at MVCFans are already discussing who they're going to have to park at their AAA affiliate Sunrise Christian Academy now that they're 3 over the scholarship limit for next year if they give Frankamp a scholarship next year. And Baker isn't a guarantee to go to the NBA next year either. I see Van Vleet as another 4 year college player; just too small to translate his success over to the NBA.

A possible solution would be to invite Sunrise to join the Missouri Valley Conference.

Most Wichita fans on that forum probably would have preferred Sunrise over Loyola.

Frankamp to WSU makes it less likely that Smart will wind up with the Shockers too.

Loyola is starting a new venture called Arrupe College. Maybe they will have a basketball team, and we can use them to stash recruits who don't qualify.

I don't think Roosevelt goes to WSU. Our old friends in Indianapolis, despite their coaching situation, have some scholarships open and there's talk they're looking at him. He'll also get plenty of attention in the spring when everyone knows what they need to replace the outoging transfers.

But this all reminds me of a great story from when James Franklin was still the coach at Vanderbilt. http://www.elevenwarriors.com/buckshot/ ... -vonn-bell
