Thanks. That's more than I would have guessed.

Sorry Streak, I misinterpreted what you said. Not to be picky, but out of respect to Joe Gentile, men's and women's basketball and volleyball are played in the Joseph J. Gentile Arena, not Norville. Gentile is connected to Norville, but Norville does not host intercollegiate athletic competitions.

Also, regarding the 30K, I wonder if that gives you rights to keep hosting if you keep winning?

This where the boss steps up to the plate. Kelly should pick up the phone and call one of his influential connections to write a check. He brags about being a Loyola man and that he knows the biggest businessmen in town, now is the time to walk the walk. He shouldn't have to turn to the university but get it done on his own.

Good point, 86.

Whoa! Sometime I think I live in a vacuum. The stuff i just read on the previous posts blows me away.
I guess nothing is as simple as it seems.
I wonder what the Mens budget is and who sets it?
How does our budget match up with the rest of the conference?
This CIT thing, does it count for the season record?
Is it important for recruiting purposes?
Is there any meaningful media coverage of this CIT?, prior to late rounds?
Is there better use of funds, if in fact that is an issue.
Why do we think local media or student body would support such a home game?
Back to what I do know,
This team has been extremely interesting to watch over the course of the season.
They have captured my loyalty. I want only to do whatever we can to keep it going,
and hearing any negativity or no-can do attitude is really depressing.
As I see it, Moser made many good decisions in the course of this pre-season and game by game.
My head already is spinning thinking about a lineup for next year. Yet, I want this years kids to know they have gained
my respect with their relentless play. I am so proud of the seniors, each in their own way demonstrated big time character in the face of many rough times.
They played a team game, rolled with change and outdid themselves so many times. I'll remember each of them long after this season is over.
I wish them nothing but the best, and I am confident they will do Loyola proud off the court even more than they did while playing.
Thanks Ramblers for a great season to date. (Not done yet!)

Wow !! I surely am sorry I raised the question !! I would have thought costs of post season or most anything else SHOULD not and WOULD not be a problem. Our ascent to where we were in 85 and prior to that cannot be hobbled by this small stuff--I say SMALL stuff--If it is, we truly are just playing the same old same old !!

86 has it correctly ! COMMIT or lose everthing Fr G has promised. He , in his position cannot and should not be bothered--If whomever he designated will not go forward---well he or she is superfluous !
JUST sayin !! Or as Jessie Royce Landis said in North by Northwest--"Pay the two dollars" !!!!!!!

Didn't mean to cause a problem!
I plan to enjoy the games left first. I BELIEVE this team has something amazing left in the tank.
GO RAMBLERS

Just to be clear to everyone, that's $30k plus expenses, minus revenues. The example school in the article (thanks for the link, 86) is Old Dominion, who hosted three games, which cost $120k with guarantee and expenses, but they pulled in $75k in revenues. Their shortfall on breaking even came mostly because they only got 2k for the first game selling tickets at reduced prices (I imagine it's tough to sell thousands of tickets when there's very short notice between Selection Sunday/Tournament finals and the first games). They got 3400 for the second game.

I think it would be well worth it for several reasons, from a fan point of view, from an institutional view, from an athletic view. Of course I'm not writing the check... instead I'm writing a $1k check on Monday for a plumber-- my shower valve went out and they have to replace an old pipe under the tub. My point is, certain expenses are worth it even if you have to scramble for the cash.

It looks like Jesse Kramer talked to Moser today:
