Allen's "walk-on" year coincides with the year he has to sit as a transfer. He won't be on the bench and he won't have an athletic scholarship next year.

This is correct. Clayton Custer was offered the same situation. Conner Frankamp is likely to get scholarship minutes this year despite paying his own way.

Interesting. I didn't know WSU was involved with Custer.

Very much so. We as WSU fans were sad he did not end up in Wichita, but we're glad he ended up in Loyola.

PM did a great job of locking down the Custer commitment quickly.

What's in-state tuition at WSU? Would have to imagine that helps convincing someone like Frankamp (who is from KS, right?) to walk on for a year.

Tuition is ~ $7000 per year. Frankamp also considered Creighton. Creighton is $30K per year. Three semesters in Wichita w/o scholarship is cheaper. As an added bonus, you don't have to play for the Bluejays.

Man. That's crazy. Loyola's tuition is up to $39,000.

It's official. The Shockers are cheaters. (I heard they even deflate the basketball at home games so little Freddie VanVleet can palm the ball in the unlikely event he goes up for an attempted dunk!)

I'm still not convinced that Frankamp gets a scholarship after this year. He's gonna have to earn it and I, and others, still have doubts about that happening.
