i agree with brot.. I more see porter using this season as leverage for a long term contract. He has great recruits coming in, 4 kids in school, and success after many years of no success.

The thing that really worries me is losing Mullins. His connections through his dad are vital. We need to make sure that he is paid very well.

Good news with Mullins is SIU's success this year means Hinson is likely coming back. Their early struggles led to talk among the Saluki fan base of moving on from Hinson. Mullins would likely be a top target for that job.

Still not completely safe. I can see a lot of mid-major teams in the Midwest targeting him (MoSt...)

I don't know if Mullins would get a head gig just yet, I think it's more likely he gets a hire major assistant gig then finds his way back as a mid major head coach. I'm sure Valentine won't be here too long either given his good reputation. It should be noted though that we're an ideal next step for rising assistants. Every year we lose at least one, and it's generally to high major jobs (Dildy-Mizzou, Seltzer-Washington State, Robinson-Iowa State), because we always hire quality assistants. Wouldn't be surprised to see our Director of Operations Jevon Mamon get bumped up in the event any leave. He's got great AAU ties having coached for the Meanstreets program as well as Hyde Park.

As for Moser, I'm not quite sure a school would jump on him after one year, if we make the tourney back to back years then I'd be a bit more worried. Fans are hyper critical and would likely look at his overall win/loss record. This rebuild took a long time, there's also been a lot of investment in the program this year with practice facilities and video boards, arrows pointing straight up at the moment. DePaul seems like a scary proposal for any coach. That program will probably take at least 2-3 years to get into the middle tier of the big east.

In line with the quick fix argument, Colorado State may be looking at Niko...

Yeah Mullins is not going to get a head job (unless Harry Binson was fired then MAYBE). I more see him moving to a high major. The other guys will shuffle through. Mullins is just different than any other assistant we could get because of his dad.
