It trickles down. Loyola won't play a home and home with Alcorn, etc. So are we not doing the same thing with lower D1 schools?

Sorry Guys, all of you are correct--Wolf John Shy and the rest--You are ALL CORRECT !! But it means nada--We will be cheated AGAIN --WE deserve an 8 but will get a 12 or worse. I have been around too long to have faith in the NCAA doing the right and FAIR thing--But we WILL win a game at least --We are that good !!!

Yes, that is true.... to an extent. However, many teams fund their whole program by taking guarantee games. We went on the road to UMKC and Milwaulee, and we've played home and homes with UIC, Kent State and Toledo.

For years, Brot has been sunny and upbeat when the rest of us have been gloomy. Now that we're very good, Brot, you need to enjoy it.

As usual, excellent evaluation by JCT. Having a week to wait has also given me time to look over the landscape on this tournament. I review Ken Pom regularly, check the bracketology daily and watch as many games and discussions as I can. Some of the latest that I find interesting...
CBS analysts were thinking the committee should give ND some slack as Bonzie Colson was out for an extended period, but is now healthy. YET Jerry Palm, I believe, said it would be highly unlikely that LU would get any consideration for the games Custer missed.. WTF?
NCState has a non com SOS in the negative nines, a mediocre conference record, yet is projected as a 9 seed? Sorry I can't forget the no call last year, ever...
The West Coast Conference may get two schools in even tho St. Marys schedule was weak and they just lost to a BYU team Gonzaga has beaten three times this year, yesterday by 20 points.....
Could go on and on but to no point as I am preaching to the choir.
End of the day, I am thrilled with our team's progress and success this year. The way we play and the level of our competition is truly college basketball as meant to be played. I think we can only control our own behavior, continue to improve each season, and along with the Valley continuing to get stronger, doing smarter scheduling.
The power of a successful program in the Chicago market should help all of our objectives over time, as well as recruiting for the entire Valley.
Finally, as usual we need to just play one game at a time, each possession hard and we will have the success we desire. PM, I expect will remain with LU at it is his baby from the ground up. I don't think any cash compensation can override that. Well, OK, to a point. My hope is we go forward with the team that got us here. Whatever the seeding, you have to beat everyone at some point. Go Ramblers...

I believe Palm said injuries are considered with seeding but not with selection. He spoke of Custer in relation to Loyola's at large chances.

Which is exactly what is happening with ND--very much a bubble team. Their at-large profile is being considered by taking into account Colson's injury. Have heard multiple analysts cite ND's w/l record with and without him. The bias is unreal.

Not to mention--how in the WORLD is St. Mary's considered an at-large team (well, a bubble team at this point)? Loyola's profile is almost identical, maybe even slightly better, and we were told that LU would have little-to-no shot at an at-large bid.
