Rothstein tweeted that Duquesne is being added to our MTE with Cincinatti.

Solid program, and we’ve lost a few recruits over the last few years to them so it would feel good to get a W over them.

Good sign that the event will come together.

If we can’t cobble together a decent non con schedule, I don’t bring Porter. Even without the pandemic, I assumed last year with everybody we had returning that it was going to be very hard to find quality teams willing to play us and risk absorbing a loss.

Cincinnati is a solid game. Duquesne is a solid game. Chicago State is an easy win against a division 1 school. I would be shocked if UIC wasn’t on our schedule. If we could win two of those four and go 16-2 or 15-3 in conference, we will have legitimate shot at our fourth consecutive 20+ when season, even if those are the only games we play. The 20 win mark is important to me because I think it shows recruits that if you like winning, loyola is a great place to be.

At this point, I don’t really care who we are playing as long as we can get in as many games as possible. I want to see Krutwig get in enough games to build his stats legitimately as one of our best players in history. Same with Williamson. They are going to go down as two of our winningest players if we can have some semblance of a season.

This may sound crazy… And I know UNI is good ... but when I go through each player on our roster, I feel like we are far and away the best team in the Valley. Aside from free throw shooting concerns, I’m convinced that with our style of play, we can beat ANYONE.

Indy MTE starts Nov. 25. Looks like only two games and Duquesne will play Cincy for sure. It’s possible but not probable we wouldn’t play Cincy. Looks like you will play 2 of the other teams but not all 3.

Thank you for the information. Seems kind of lame...if four are there, and presumably all teams are looking to get in non-conf games, why not just have every team play each other.

Really hope we can play Cincy. Or, if not, the fourth team is high quality. Dayton and Ohio State have both dropped out of the South Dakota tourney so maybe one of them sign up for this MTE?

I am not aware of any announcement from Loyola but in reviewing the DePaul basketball schedule they are playing a road Big East game on December 11th which would have been one day after their home game against us.

If Chicago moves back to phase 3 or even phase 2, what would happen to the games? In phase 3 gyms can only be 1 to 1. Can’t play a game with only 10 people which is phase 3 capacity. Or is there an exception for sports as essential? I have no idea. Just asking.

Who knows, but the governor or mayor could also always write in exceptions. That’s what happened in Oregon and some other west coast states for the PAC 12, and now PSU and UP as well.

Gotta think increasing COVID #s are playing havoc with scheduling.....and ND fans rushing the field after CLemson victory is going to give pause to reflect
