USF beating BYU was good for us tonight. BYU was a bubble team and that likely knocked them out while also securing USF's spot in the dance, and thus boosting the cache of our win over them...we can say we beat a tourney team.

That was a huge win for our program!!! It certainly wasn't a sure thing that we were in with a loss today, and I felt it was extremely important to enter the A-10 with the momentum of back-to-back tourney appearances, especially with so few underclassmen playing key roles. Going to 3 of 5 tournaments is huge for our recruiting credibility going into the A-10, and we need to reload this offseason. We are playing with house money in the tournament.

Also great to reward the seniors that came back and the Ivy transfers that stuck with us!

Was talking to Steve Watson b 4 the game about our chances...He said he thought we had earned the bid,,,the problem was Drake's net was so poor a lose to them today would really hurt.....but who cares whe f.ng won!!!!!!!!1

It's too bad the other three top teams struggled a bit in the pre season. There is no doubt in my mind one of Drake, MSU or UNI is one of the top 68 teams right now. Drake, as a 20 win team and a tourney win last year with everyone back, would be competitive even as a low seed.
