Losing Doyle will make a challenging season even worse, but I'm trying to remain hopeful he will play. I can't imagine he has any interest in sitting out another year. If there's any way he can go, I think he will. Hell, he wanted to practice last Saturday. Obviously he was held out for good reason, but it did seem like he was feeling ok. Hopefully the treatment plan is a success, and like someone pointed out, we don't really need him for 5 or 6 weeks so there's no need to rush it.
Of course, reading about labrum injuries, it seems like they don't generally heal on their own so surgery may be a necessity at some point. And if you play with it, one wrong bump and you can dislocate your shoulder... Just a bad situation.
I think best case scenario for LU is that he'll have to have surgery come mid-March, and then it's the new head coach's problem to sort out from there. It just kind of reeks of the Jordan Hicks situation.
