I like this pickup too. Interesting that we go two guards rather than guard/forward like PM indicated but his favorite height strikes again. Welcome to Loyola Adarius and Lucas!

Does this mean we're done, or with more visits coming could there be other spots opening up?

Will he be an immediate contributor? I hope he can help replace some of the Milton's scoring.

On paper we should be done... But we were scheduled to have Bruninga in this weekend. It would be interesting to see if we downgrade his offer to a 4 for 5 like UNI and ISUr(at least initially, they recently) offered. With a redshirt for the coming season.

Pretty happy with on this commitment though! Very athletic and a skilled slasher. Him and Townes will make a TOUGH one two punch driving the paint, and he rebounds well. Great recruiting class!

Avery is really 6'4". I'd stake my reputation on it.

I think it's asking a lot for him to average a double-double in the MVC like he did in JUCO, but we'll need him to step in right away. I also wonder if he has the ability to play/guard the 4. We did just have 2 spots open up because our tallest two players transferred, and I expect Krutwig and Negron to contribute but not star next year. For all the levity about Porter's favorite height on this board, I do think it is a huge weakness in his coaching that we give up a lot down low in terms of rebounding, defense, rim protection, or counteracting the other team's rim protector on offense.

I think we're at a weird point where we're "done" but I think we should still keep our options open just in case.

It will be interesting. While our top end height will still be pretty slim. We'll be bigger across the board. Chastain and Negron bring two 6'6" players who rebound at a high level, very similar to Ingram in their ability to hang in the air and snatch it. Avery is a high level rebounder at 6'5" (I've seen him listed at 6'6" in some spots so hopefully he's a taller 6'5...). From what I've seen Krutwig has a college body already and should have the physicality to box out better than most freshmen coming into next season. Satterwhite has major length with his arms to get up and grab boards as well; especially if he bulks up.

Not saying it's gonna work, but it should be better. I would love if we could have just one Thik Bol type like SIU has.

The last time we had a player with 50 or more blocks in a season was Tyrelle Blair in 2004-05.

If memory serves, Blair transferred to Boston College after that season. What might've been had he stuck around and been apart of the team a couple years later...
