Allow me to clarify for Toledo the current eligibility rules by using obscure Latin legalisms:

For purposes of determining eligibility status, this season is void abnitio.
A player's eligibility status reverts to the status quo ante of last year.
Next season eligibility rules resume nunc pro tunc.
The Rule in Shelley's Case is not violated thereby.

This will be a very interesting game and will tell a lot about the year going forward. It is entirely possible that this game comes down to the free throws, but I also think it comes down to Tate Hall's playing. He scored one point yesterday. We can't expect to win against a ranked school when one of our starters only scores one point and can't shoot free throws. Let's hope they focus on free throw shooting during practice today.

ESPN has us at a 26.7% chance of winning this game. I'm curious if anyone has any thoughts on that number.

Thank you! I get it now! It always comes back to the rule against perpetuities....

Also, my fault on Anderson having 3 years. I thought he only played at Indiana for 1 year.

It looks to me like transfers sitting out aren't going to get to "bank" this year for eligibility, so there's not reason to not have him on the active roster and available to play if the universal waiver passes Wednesday. Same with Hutson.

I guess we'll see

It is .3% less than 27%.

It's 3x higher than our chance to beat Florida in December 2017.

Absolutely disagree with that number. I put it more at 55-45% them. Our defense is too good to give up 80 and our offense is too good to only score 60. This is going to be a close game. It WILL come down to fouls at the end. My confidence in us playing great for 38 minutes is high. My confidence in holding a lead, if we have one, in the last two minutes is really low.

We are the exact type of team that if you’re up by 3 with 10 seconds left, you should foul us and not let us take the shot.

We are also the exact type of team that if you’re down by 3 with 40 seconds left, you should foul us and try to trade 2s for 1s (or zeros).

I’m really hoping we rise to the occasion, remain calm at the line, and come back to Chicago with a victory.

Who cares about percentages? It's why we play the games. My concern is limiting Wisconsin's offensive rebounds. They are tall and long and we need to keep them to one and done. This could hurt some of the transition offense we have been getting and clean looks from 3. UIC was a good test in that regard and we handled it well, but these guys are even bigger.

Hall did seem out of it and he was not on the floor late against UIC. I have a feeling his FT shooting was part of the reason. He's a tough kid and usually bounces back after sub-par performances. We need him to be active, especially on the glass as he is one of our taller players.
