Well that was a little a bit stressful. But a win is a win and we are champs again!

Let’s get the bad out of the way: blowing a 13 point lead to a bottom team is not great, someone needs to step up when Krut is collapsed on; we need to hit 3’s, we are capable of it but they just haven’t been there lately, we need these shots to fall next week; and our end of game offensive sets are quite bad.

The positives are we are valley champs again, 3rd time in 4 years and that’s an amazing run; Jones exploded this series but overall our defense is still great. Williamson, so much has been said about him already but what heart and a will to win at the end, huge rebound; and I think the biggest positive for all these close games is that the team is learning to win close games and that will be big for Arch madness and the tourney as we likely won’t be blowing out anyone.

Congrats to the team and all the seniors on another valley championship, this has been a great team to watch and this run with Krut and Williamson is going to be hard to duplicate. If this is their last run, Thanks for all you guys did for the program and for the fun the past few years. On to St. Louis!

Get the bile out of the system now! When you win that says a lot about when you are far from your best.
So on to the MVC tourney and lets rebound with three great performances. Certainly we won't be complacent.
Hats off to Brian Mullins and his staff. They kept their team in the game and almost pulled it out.

That, right there, is why these games worried me. He knows a lot of our players so well, and is a great defensive mind.

Side note: I just tuned into the Bradley/Drake game....might be worth watching.

SIU is going to be an absolute force. Mullins is fantastic coach, as we know. Had those boys playing great despite being the youngest team in the Valley AND without their best player. They have a ton of talent coming in next year too.

Bradley up 5 late against Drake. Not sure what to cheer for. Bradley wins and we get #1 seed and sole MVC championship BUT that will likely pop Drake's bubble and the dream of a 2-bid Valley...unless someone other than us wins in StL.

1 seed gets Bradley/ Southern
2 seed gets UNI / Redbirds

I think. According to Hacksaw's chart

Bradley might gift us the one seed... hold on tight..

As has been said, we need to figure out our offensive identity. SIU and Drake are great defensive teams, Valpo might have been the most concerning for me. But as has been said, another season finishing at the top!

Drake loses. We are Champs, not just co-Champs!

Bradley knocks off Drake so we will claim the #1 seed. Will face winner of UNI / Illinois State in the quarters and then will face winner of Indiana State / Evansville. I like the path, although the Sycs scare me.

Gutted for Drake. Battled so hard despite injuries to two best players. Now sit on the bubble and likely need to AT LEAST make it to Sunday in StL...although that may not even be enough.

It’s tough to win a conference title. We just won our third in four years. With no “bad” losses. Oh, and set a school record for conference wins in a season. 56 conference wins in 4 years. An *average* of 14 wins/year. Celebrate this team, they deserve it!!
