This is awesome. I can remember many, many, many games where there wasn’t 1300 people total in attendance, much less just students.

Thanks again for the tickets 01grad. Great game. I am very impressed with Saint's offense. Uguak was great from the 3 point line tonight. I have high expectations for this team.

I remember many a game where there weren't 357 total fans! And they got REALLY loud on a number of occasions!!!

Great to see Tate hit his last two 3's... hopefully he can gain some of that confidence back!

WOW. Fun game tonight. I love the faster tempo on offense and defensive intensity was good. We have to remember it was Coppin State. They play DePaul tomorrow. It will be fun to see what that score will be since we play DePaul Dec 2.

A few thoughts:

1. You can tell some of the new guys were sill picking up our defensive scheme. We fouled a little more than usual. We need to clean that up because you don’t want teams who are struggling to score to get to the bonus and free throws. Our defensive numbers are good because we generally don’t foul much or give teams free points. I did notice at one point Knight got a foul and Drew took him out and he seemed t be telling Knight he had to be vertical and “reach for the lights” which we teach here.
2. Love the offensive tempo. The early barrage of 3’s were all after some quick passing, penetration and were in rhythm on clean catches. Love that the guys are ready to shoot it on the catch. All good. However, we took some threes that were forced. It’s a fine line. We figure that out, look out. The fact that EVERYONE can ad will shoot it out there will make us tough to defend.
3. We did score in the paint and once we established the 3, dribble drive opened up and we some good inside action. I like that the transfers can score in the paint and we saw some nice passing in short space.
4. Love the rotation of the players. No reason with how deep we are that all the players can’t go max effort while on the floor. Think of Nolan Richardson and his 40 minutes of Hell teams at Arkansas.
5. Some of the combinations tonight, we had some big mobile lineups on the floor. I would say that the majority of shots Coppin St took were contested.
6. This team has a certain joy to it. These guys LIKE each other. The Senoirs and Kennedy were going out of their way to encourage, teach the new guys.
7. Finally, Saint Thomas, he’s gonna be a problem!

In a night of some real surprises around college basketball, it is good to see that the Ramblers handily took care of business.

Forgive me if I missed it, but I did not read anywhere about why Damezi Anderson did not play. Does anyone know why?

Demezi and Clemens were in street clothes on the bench. The commentators made it seem like Clemens could be back as soon as this weekend, but no word on Anderson.

Coach Drew mentioned in his post game presser that Anderson was a key figure on the scout team along with Ben Schweiger/TY Johnson/Smythe and Will Alcock. It sounded as if he's practicing and contributing to the team, just perhaps not in the way we anticipated. He was engaged on the bench as well, so perhaps this is the role he will play for us which Drew highlighted as being central to our preparation and ultimately winning.

So it really does seem like we will have 11 guys getting minutes when Clemons comes back.

Biggest concern and most interesting thing to watch as the season progresses for me is the post play. Hutson has looked shaky to start the year. I like Knight inside, too, but I don't know if he's big enough to guard some of the centers in the Valley. Foul trouble was also a big issue last night.

In another thread, natetheskate said that Damezi might not play this year... care to elaborate on that, natey?
