Yeah. There were some very questionable personnel decisions throughout this game--especially in the 2nd half.

Well, guys, Just what I was afraid of--We played their style NOT OURS ! We are a young team --this should be a learning type game.

OXEN-BALL never wins for LUC--Check it out. We MUST learn to play our type of game and this surely was not one of them. We get them at our place, remember.

Young teams are fragile teams . That's us FOR NOW.

That was an eminently winnable game. Add it to Southern Illinois, and the non-con second half collapses, and it's really wearing on me.

You've got Christian Thomas of all people shooting three threes in the final three minutes, including one early in the shot clock with three minutes left and us down by one. You've got Doyle scoreless in the second half. You've got London Dokubo AND Jordan Pickett coming into the game for the first time in the last three minutes, after White had to sit with foul trouble at the end of the first and early in the 2nd. You've got Turk sitting most of the 2nd half, and not getting back into the game until we're down by three with less than two minutes left.

Word! As much as I love the Ramblers, these games are so frustrating to watch at times. Why was Turk on the bench for nearly the entire 2nd half, especially when our offense is stagnant?

I agree with you Brot, but from what PM was saying after the game (I didn't watch) we were pushed around a lot. I was not impressed by the vaunted physicality of the MVC in the 3 home games I saw, but we may be facing different kinds of teams now, certainly in Northern IA and Wichita whom I have seen. You have to play your game but if it doesn't work you have to be ready to adjust and we don't do that very well.

Probably because of the ill-advised three he took with 8 seconds left in the first half.

It's one thing to send a message by sitting kids. But we're well into the conference season, and we simply don't have horses to sit our best situational players out of pique.

And maybe because (based on the radio description) his man blew by him on the baseline once again.

Yeah, that happened, too. And Crisman was doing a nice job on Ballentine, so our usual sub of Turk for Crisman didn't make as much sense.

I think that's probably the most reasonable explanation. It seemed like Crisman's job was to stick to Ballentine like glue regardless of where the ball was on the court. Crisman did a decent job defensively, but you still have to find a viable rotation that includes one of your best pure shooters on the court.
