Loyola will have an AD but it will be the same song and dance. The good news is the success of the bball program is not dependent on him. Porter is here for 4 more yrs. It's up to him.

Do you really expect Moser to be there for 4 more years? If you guys ever get an AD, I wouldn't be surprised if this is Moser's last season. Especially if you finish 9th or 10th as I've seen a number of people suggest. Lots of good young talent but ADs are known to make changes and bring in their own people and Moser doesn't have a great record to hang his hat on.

I like Porter as a person and think he's a hell of a recruiter. But the results have never really been there.

I'm still shocked you guys are just now interviewing for the position.

Optimist in me says it won't be a discussion point as LU going to show marked improvement and compete well.

But if 9th or 10th does happen, I do think Porter is still here for at least this year plus two more. That's an expensive buyout and a tough pill to swallow for a low budget school without deep pocketed donors.

There certainly won't be a buyout but firing isn't out of the question.

Farmer had 2 years left on his deal (if I remember correctly) when he was canned.
Whitesell had at least 2 years left when Grace booted him.

I expect him to still be here. The last thing I want is for us to hire some hotshot AD who is going to force another reboot of the basketball program.

The delay doesn't bother me. It hasn't been all that long, and I think the moves we've seen show that Fr G wanted to clean some things up in the department before hiring a replacement. I think it will give the new person a clean slate to focus on external affairs rather than internal.

Interesting observation. Care to elaborate?

Nothing I haven't said on here before. The biggest thing is adding a CFO for Athletics (and I could be wrong, but I believe the accountant position is new as well). My feeling - pure speculation - is that Grace jumped before the firing squad arrived. The financial / internal side being the most glaring issue. Ironically, that was supposed to be Grace's forte, given her compliance background.

This summer feels like it's been a cleanup job.

Speculation I've heard about the people applying for the AD position is that they are a mix of current ADs and people with external experience like sales, marketing, fundraising, etc.
