I'm not 100% sure I'm following you Nate, but it seems to me that what you're suggesting is in effect punishing P5 schools for playing mid majors in the preseason.

Isn't that what we mid-majors want, to have the power conference schools schedule games against us? I don't see how your proposal incentivizes the P5 schools to play us. Unless you're making a distinction between good mid majors like us and cupcakes like Chicago State.

He has several P5 offers. Having a monster senior year--hung 48 points in a single game and team has been ranked nationally during the season, which is really uncommon for Nebraska teams.

01 JC some nice info.....01 what tournament is DePaul Academy playing in? I did not think the IHSA was going to have a State Tournament? Nice performance by Ty Johnson...I thought he was more of a pure point guard than a scorer..but looks like he can do both

It’s a tournament put together to give kids something to play for. Can’t really say it’s the same as a State tournament, since I think teams can only play other teams in their own area. But it’s something. Maybe more like a hyped up regional or sectional.

It's the Chipotle Clash of Champions. It's an invitational tournament of 8 of the top Chicago area teams to try to replace the state tournament, but it's limited to the Chicago area and not every top team is participating.

Simeon, Whitney Young, Mundelein, Notre Dame, Evanston, Fenwick, DePaul Prep, and St Pat's are in the field.

They tried to spread out the teams so you can see there's 2 CPS schools, 2 public suburban schools, 2 from the ESCC, and 2 from CCL.

That being said, there's a number of teams that could win a state title not in the field like #4 Curie, #5 Glenbrook South, #6 Hillcrest, etc.

Hopkins is a Kentucky recruit. Many said we got a steal when this Johnson kid signed with us. I think they’re right. You gotta think recruits like this will also play into any decision Porter may or may not make as well.
