Really gutsy win. This is what deep, veteran teams do. You know what else is great about deep teams? The opponents game prep for the starters, and then the reserves come in and kick some ass. So glad for Kennedy to get the props on CBS Sports Net.
I didn't mention it in the preview, but Loyola's five game winning streak against D-1 teams coming into the game-- believe it or not-- was the team's longest winning streak since the 14-game winning streak broken by Michigan in the 2018 Final Four. You know what? It's REALLY HARD to win five D-1 games in a row, especially against conference teams, mixed between road and home.
Finally, Loyola's KenPom.com rank remained the same at 21. The offensive efficiency number slid a bit as Bradley held Loyola to 37.5% FG shooting. But now the Ramblers have entered the Top 10 in defensive efficiency, just behind #6 Michigan, #7 Wisconsin, #8 Texas, and #9 Virginia-- all teams ranked at #14 or above in the AP Top 25.
And not just 5 conference games in a row, but 5 conference games played in just over a week. This was a stretch we could’ve easily had a bad loss, but blew through it.
