Thoughts on the game:
1. was is the officiating slanted in Loyola favor this weekend and I’m just too big of a fan to realize it?.
2. I agree with the Evansville fans on the commentating. There’s a basketball game going on — we don’t need 8 minutes on mustaches, hairlines (which I thought was weird and inappropriate), and what the color guy is going to wear during the super bowl.
3. .. if we wanted, we could have just went down low to krutwig whenever we wanted to score, fouled out their front court, and just rode Krut to a 15+ point win if we wanted.
With our loss to Indiana State and Drake’s loss to Valpo, how does the regular season title play out if we split with Drake and both teams win out? We both would be 16-2 (tied), the head-to head would be tied, Drake would have one less loss than us but we would have the higher NET ranking. Of the teams we both lost to, it’s likely Indiana state will finish better than Valpo. Who gets the 1-seed?
There has to be some type of news on Kennedy by now! Anyone?????
1. Overall I thought the officials were okay. Evansville didn't earn many fouls, IMO, but on the other hand we got some pretty generous and-1 calls yesterday. The kind of bumps that are usually called, but are touchy.
2. 100% agree with you on JD. I was thinking Saturday that he hardly ever talks about the game.
3. I think that Porter wanted to beat them by 30 but we kept turning the ball over.
[ ] The Valley put out a
revised tiebreaker plan here. Basically it depends on how many total games are played, but the first tiebreaker is head to head, second is record against common opponents, third is record against highest seeded common opponent, so if we split with Drake and tied in the standings, our records against the team that finishes third would be the tiebreaker (meaning our loss against Indiana State could be the decider -- which seems a bit backwards to me if I'm reading it right). After that comes NET.
