I think this win pretty much sews up an at-large bid, barring a collapse of epic proportions.
We are currently #10 in the KenPom rankings.

My biggest fear now is that we will be "rewarded" for our efforts with an 8 or 9 seed.

The committee likes to stack midmajors together. An 8/9 in Gonzaga's region or a 7/10 in Houston's region wouldn't surprise me.

If we lose tomorrow, I think we’re still ok. A loss to Valpo or SIU, though, I’d be sweating a little. This year is so odd, the selection committee is either going to be overly generous with bids to mid majors...or give even more to big conference schools, because “eye test”. We won’t know until selection Sunday.

I wonder what the highest average margin of victory by an MVC champ is. Maybe one of the dominant Wichita teams after Creighton left? By my math, we are sitting around 19 points right now. That is just crazy. DOMINANCE.

We are also now #5 in KenPom defensive efficiency. That has to be one of the best in MVC history--we might have the best defense in modern MVC history. How crazy is that?!

I can't believe I read that whole thing.

What I noticed over many years, wherever my home arena was, including the old and the new Joes, was a difference in the two rims. -and the visitors always had the tight rim in the second half. I haven't noticed it here in the last five years or so. I had no idea they did all this testing. I'll concede to the testing and forget my noticing, though it sure was comforting when we had a bad shooting first half at home.

.

I'm new here on this board and fan of the team since just before the 2017 Final Four run. But I just want to bring some perspective to our chances this year.

I wish we could rely on at large bid, but I fear that, as in year's past, the lack of quad 1 wins or against any team from a P5 conference hurts us. And we haven't faired well against other mid major games, like against Richmond this year, and others in year's past (like Furman, Davidson, Colorado State). I hope I'm wrong. Our chance is that the committee devalues middle tier teams some P5 conferences this year.
