CRAZY day in college Hoops.

Drake, Missouri State, and Indiana State all lost. We are the only top 4 team in the conference that won today. Difference between us and most teams is we like to shoot the 3, but when they don’t fall, we still play great defense and we can score 2’s. Missouri State, Indiana State, SIU...NEED the 3 to win. When our 3’s fall we beat you by 20. When they don’t we grind it out.

Elsewhere, the following ranked teams lost today:

Texas, Tenn, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Florida, Creighton, Baylor, USC. Tenn, Oklahoma, Florida State, Creighton, USC lost to unranked teams. The rest were ranked teams playing ranked teams.

What does this tell you? Anyone can lose at anytime. AP and Coaches poll should be interesting on Monday. I assume we will still be ranked, just know if we drop, stay the same or go up.

So the question, like in 2018, is “Why not us?” #WeAintGoing #NoFinishLine

Great post, Mudville. When I worked for a college for 10 years and setbacks or mistakes or embarrassments happened, the staff and faculty always overreacted. The problem was they always thought the other side was perfect or nearly infallible, when in reality everyone makes mistakes. The key is to limit mistakes, not to chase after achieving an impossible perfection.

Love the grit, grind, and resilience this team showed. Our seniors sealed the game in the end, what a perfect way too leave that floor if they choose to move on next year.

I also can’t say enough about Norris this series, he’s hit some huge shots, and going back to the moving screen call against Drake; he is someone I fully trust taking a game winner/late 3.... he consistently seems to make those clutch shots. Same goes for Kennedy, he didn’t have the game he had on Friday, but he made shots when it counted most. Wow.

I’m also still not too worried about the offense. We’re getting outstanding looks. Just on a four game cold streak from range. I imagine a dam of threes just ready to burst....

Agreed about Norris and Kennedy. Norris and Clemons from beyond the arc are solid. I also think Pick N roll or screens with Krutwig and Kennedy both driving to the hoop will result in FT’s or buckets 75% of the time. I’d like to see Kennedy’s driving ability used more often in end of game situations when we’re up.

Broken record here, but I want Norris to keep taking those little jumpers in the paint. He's automatic on those, and it's a great bail out shot for us.
