Negron is still waiting for the ankle to get to 100% Heard it is almost there.......He did get a minute or two at the the end of the game telling me he is close but do not know whose minutes he would take. Cam just can not seem to get out of his own way plus as good an athlete as he is, it seems hard to find a real role in Porters system to match his set of skills. As for Avery he comes in as a new guy , who was THEEE man in JC,,,,hurts his shoulder I believe..just really has him behind the 8-ball. I will say for me anyway I would like Coach to handle his exasperation with Cam a little better.....His public actions to Cams mistakes do not make it any easier for Cam to grow.... I just hope that Coach takes care of these issues SOOOOn..as I would hate to see them affect what is turning into a really good season. Plus I do not want this to be the focus of the season any longer.

There was definitely one moment today where everyone in earshot heard Porter nearly jump out of his suit (sorry, PortersJacket). But then soon after he was talking with Cam on the bench in a much calmer manner. I don’t know, and won’t pretend to know, all the background, but it just feels like Porter knows what a talent the kid has, and when he goes off script the frustration builds. But it’s workable if they’re both willing. Cam was one of the first off the bench today when needed, so I see the recognition of potential there.

As someone said earlier, it was mentioned today that Negron may still be working his way back/catching up from early injuries. I will say one thing that impressed me a ton was late in the game, Negron was half a step ahead of everyone, could’ve forced the issue and tried to make a big statement play...or a play that could’ve caused a turnover...but with less than a minute left decided to hold it and kick the ball out to slow it down. Smart play over highlight reel. Team play.

Re:Satterwhite, I agree with previous comment, that Satterwhite,(Cam 2) is worth the effort. PM is giving him time and attention, which, I think, means he is invested in this young man. PM could just park him on the bench if he didn't care.

As a fan, having "Twin Cams" on the floor could be very exciting. Plus you have to think of the long term and he is only a soph.
I see him at SF and like it. He needs to make a play or two to lighten up the tension and play more freely.
Just my opinion from afar.
Go Ramblers.

I noticed this too!! Initially you hoped for the slam, but he made a smart play. I also think it's clear offensively he's still super raw. Right now he adds defense and some rebounding but I'm not sure how much else you can expect from him. Not a knock against him, he just needs time and unfortunately hasn't had a ton after not playing his senior season! I love his potential.

I have a friend that's son played a lot of AAU ball with Christian and that is what he said....super athletic but at that point his shot was still not developed....and then in what would have been his senior year he gets hurt.....so misses a whole developmental year...and then gets hurt this year......Same guy also said he would take Christian in a heart beat...as is.....great enthusiasm, teammate ,

Blers,
Your description of what happened with Satterwhite in the first half is accurate, but I was right behind the Ramblers basket near the bench. He got pulled in the second half for getting posted up and giving up a layup. The there was a blowup on the bench. His reaction was unacceptable and Coach Valentine had to try to calm him down. Then he never got back into the game.

I watched the replay today because I missed the second half. I was looking for this, and you couldn't really see anything on TV.

Cam got worked over by Donte Thomas a couple times, but... why was he in there trying to guard Thomas, who is 6'7 220? I didn't get that at all. He got taken out, but I can't understand why that sequence was such a trigger.

Exact same thought.....why was Cam guarding Thomas????? Bradley got it.....They isolated and posted Thomas up on Cam 4 times in a row......Cam played solid in those instances but did not have a chance.......My only thing is the way that Coach goes after Cam ....I know Cam makes mistakes but the corrections end up looking and feeling like public humiliation to me....like watching a parent swat a kid in a store. I know Coach is excitable,,,just do not want to see him turn into Bobby (the boob) Knight.

Cam should’ve fronted him in the post. Cam has what a 7’2” wingspan? The reason he has lost time is because he keeps making mistakes and when coach tries to tell him he gives him attitude.
Now I don’t believe Cam should be running the point, because his passing decisions are usually bad (his first play he threw it into the post and it should’ve been intercepted), however when he has been put down low he has played soft, so where does coach play him? We’ve got enough 2 guards.
I have no clue where he gets minutes if he can’t make better decisions when playing the point because he does not appear to want to bang and use his length and hops to help us down low.

Fair point about not letting him catch it down low.

because of Thomas size( muscle more than height) he pretty much pushed Cam around and got him where he wanted him....Does anyone know what position Cam played in high school? I also agree that we have not found a spot for him to contribute despite his athleticism.
