As I see it, I have two clear and distinct choices:
Option 1: Blame whichever assistant coach who did the scouting and game-planning for this game, blame Coach himself for not having the team in a proper frame of mind to win, blame Coach for not calling a strategic time out when things were getting out of hand to get the team back to playing the kind of game we're built for, and the team as a whole for not stepping up to match ISU's intensity.
Option 2: Damned CBS Sports Net curse strikes again!
I'm on the fence.
I listened to the first half (and I'm not going back to watch it), but it sounded like we got sucked into a fast tempo. That's deadly to us. We absolutely have to play our game and not let teams speed us up.
We also have to be able to guard one on one on the perimeter. Guys are breaking us down way too easily. That was my biggest concern coming into the game necause Barnes did it in the second half last game.
Sounded like Hall had a rough game defensively, at least according to the color guy on the webcast. Our defense should be getting better, not worse. But teams have found our weakness. Mullins/SIU was the first to exploit it.
