Missouri State's lowest offensive output this season was 61 this year in their first game agaist Drake. Second lowest was 70.

Tim Doyle keeps talking about skipping St Louis since it might jeopardize the possible of an at large bid. I'm not a college basketball afficianado, is that a possibility? Seems like something Porter wouldn't even consider

Drake only up 1 on Illinois State with under 2 minutes to play.

It would help us, but really don’t like seeing a team potentially lose an at large bid because of one bad game like this. And a loss to ISU would be terrible for Drake’s resume.

Drake and ISU go to overtime tied at 71.

There are teams, especially the big boys who are basically already in, who probably won’t go so as to not risk a covid exposure. I don’t think we’ll have that luxury, and not because virtually our whole team already got it. I think we have to go or else Selection Sunday will be quite nerve racking.

I don’t think a mid major can take anything for granted, and assume they would get a bid. Especially this year. I already see some pundits saying “Eye test is more important than metrics this year”...make no mistake “eye test” is code for “ignore the mid major school’s metrics”

Lot of positives from this game. Too bad for the team that they have to come back tomorrow and do it again, but I feel really really good about where we’re at right now in this stretch of the schedule.

Jay Bilas pulls out the “eye test” every single year. He is awful for the sport.
