That'd be nice if it were true, but it's not. They've had a few much closer games this year against teams that aren't named Loyola. SIU was beating them at halftime last week and it was a 5 point game with 2 minutes left, at WSU. And we know SIU is about equal to us. I'm not saying they're not a good team, but I just don't see them as an elite team. They have one good win all year, a 5 point win over SLU, but other than that they haven't played a top team. Like I said, they could prove me wrong, but I just don't see it.

That, and their offensive rebounds. I haven't looked at the stats but they seemed to get a ton of second chance points. When we rebounded is when we were able to make little runs. WSU will have trouble against a team that can rebound with them.

Van Vleet was great.

I'm proud of our effort. It was a fun game to watch and a great atmosphere with a sold out arena.

MY BAD--You are correct--I forgot about Salukis. MY angst actually is directed toward the Media here--Where is Wichita located ?? As far as Eastern dominated Media goes, that is Nowhere. And whom they play is nowhere as well. Syracuse ? With all respect tp Ohio Gal. they --number one team by Eastern Media standards got beat by a poor BC team--The other guys--Only Izzo's bunch and a SEC team or two plus Arizona out west (which must just kill these Media types.
Media--front runners that they are truly hate it when one of the regular winners don't win-- such as GTN, NCar, MD SYR Louisville--althogh they will be formidible (sp) You get the point--

My only real point is n up and coming team played well against an UNDEFEATED team--Hard thing to do. You have the odds on your side--but it would be neat if they pulled it off.

I really feel we are swayed by short fat guys who only can write but did not make a team.

Now then--Shockers , you are correct--must prove themselves--I feel they will--

I truly would love to have my question re broadcasters answered --63 ???

I have learned never to doubt how far coaching and great guard play can get you in the tourney. I had the Shockers as an early exit last year (I had Pitt knocking them out first round) and learned my lesson. This year, I think they go far again. Final 4 will be tough, as it is for any team. But this is at least an Elite 8 team, imo.

I believe they out rebounded us 41 to 24. But I think we overcome that if this was called like a home game for us. I believe they had 6 less fouls called on them.

I, too, am proud of these guys. They battled. If they learn from these games, next year should be good.

Here's one thing I didn't like. Porter called off the dogs around the 45 second mark. WSU was kind enough to take that and then dunk it in our faces. Sorry, but that was classless. I give WSU credit where it is due, but there is no excuse to do that.

I agree, WSU is at least an Elite 8 team on paper. Out of 351 Divsion I teams, WSU is the only undefeated, and beside them only Syracuse has fewer than two losses. I don't care how "mediocre" your competition is, you don't go 28-0 without being excellent. But Kansas has gone into the tournament ranked pretty high several times and made an early exit in the first or second rounds. Nobody goes into the NCAA Tournament without having to "prove it."

We played pretty well-- good enough to beat probably every MVC team besides WSU and maybe Indiana State. But a lot more things have to go right for us and a lot more things have to go not so great for them for us to beat them.

I didn't think the game was poorly officiated. I thought WSU was the bigger, faster, more aggressive team. They deserved more free throws.

I generally agree. There were maybe 1 or 2 drives we had where we ended up on our backs and should've had an and 1, but generally we just committed a lot of stupid fouls that were fouls.

I didn't think it poorly officiated...just inconsistent.
