I must have logged on to TarHeelMania by mistake. We're talking about a coach losing his job after a win? Come on.

Is it too much to ask to win a home game versus a bottom dweller team that struggles on the road by a comfortable margin with a more respectable free throw shooting percentage than 52%?

I mean, not necessarily, I guess, but like you said, a win is a win. On the flip side, SIU just beat Illinois State. Teams in this league play you tough. It was a fun game, and we got the W. I'm happy.

Keep in mind that SIU is the youngest team in the league, and has been playing much better the last month or so than they were at the beginning of the year. And we were still playing without our best player. A win is a win is a win, especially in conference.

I don't really care if we beat or how much we beat them by. As long as the season ends with Loyola having a winning record, I will be very merry happy. At least makes the program look like it is going in the right direction, and we can build off of that in recruiting and continuing to get better and better as the years go by.

Well said (written) Toledo--
Another milestone passed on the way back--
--A fine non con record--including a tourney win
--A couple of road wins in Conference
--And now --step three--at worst an even record on the regular season at 15-15

And now we keep going to finish regular season well.
This team , since Milt's injury plus Earl's toe , has been scrapping and fighting--It has NOT been pretty but we are succeeding--If Milt was uninjured---well , let us say only that the rest of the League --and I mean the entire League is rather lucky --bad for us--nice for them.

Keep in mind, most of us wrote this year off as preparatory for next season--REMEMBER ?? Well, we all got behind the team and were proud of them--AND then comes the carping--INCLUDING ME (fREEBIES IN MY CASE) Angst against and quick to jump all over PM by some others.

I say we are ahead of the game--These guys are good but better yet are playing way above their heads especially on defense--A small team such as ours should be a disaster in this MVC--BUT we are not--BRAVO !!

GO RAMBLERS !!!

Why can't we ever run an in-bounds play from anywhere on the court? I am really asking; this is not a rhetorical question.

Here's my article on the game. No doubt that Jeff White was the key behind the better offense in this one:

Also, in response to that last post, I meant to ask Porter after the game but forgot how it seems like every baseline inbounds play they run winds up with the bailout pass into the backcourt. Only successful inbounds play was when CT got a wide open dunk in the first half.

Always trying to hit a home run. There are inbound plays that can directly result in a hoop in one pass. Usually when an opposing team shows some certain weakness picked up during game planning. Most should result in the ball being inbounded where an offensive set can be run immediately giving you a good look. We tend to always look for the one pass hoop and pass up getting the ball into the latter. So time runs down and here comes the bail out pass.
