I wonder what happened. I hate to see that kind of stuff. I know we're better than that, but I never expect to see any of that occur in our games.

Likely Scenario of Post-game Flare up:

Cameron Krutwig:A hard-fought and well-deserved victory. Congratulations, Mr. Murphy.

Tremmell Murphy: You suck, you overrated tub of white lard!

Krutwig: While I disagree with your opinion I respect your right to express it. God bless America.

Murphy: F' you and your shopping mall security guard mustache!

Krutwig: Facial hair is a matter of personal preference I guess.

Murphy: I oughta pop you one upside your ugly melon head!

Krutwig: Violence never solved anything.

Murphy: You lucky I ain't packing heat!

Krutwig: I'm glad you've learned from your prior lapse of judgment regarding firearms and their proper use.

Murphy: *@#$%&!

Krutwig: Looking forward to a possible rematch at Arch Madness.

Murphy: Cigarboy Sucks!

Krutwig: Finally, something we can agree on.

Ok forgot about this, had to use the google machine for this..seems like he got off fairly light for a accidental discharge, in university paid housing, with an injury.

You just had your ass kicked bursting your bubble on dreams of being a top twenty team. You made a great comeback and fought off the other team's effort to pull it out and walked away with a one point win in overtime on your home court.
I don't blame them for being ecstatic in their well deserved win. We are the better team but on Sunday Drake rose up for the one time and beat us fair and square.
So, time to move on.

This is how I view it as well. Drake is a very good basketball team. We are better, but it is clear that they are very well-coached and have some talented players. They fought ridiculously hard knowing any at-large chance they have would disappear with another loss. Ton of emotion poured out at the end of a hard fought game. Good for them--they should celebrate.

I don't know what words were said by either team. Obviously if they said some words to our team (rather than just celebrating), that might cross the line a bit.

But it's over. Figure out what the hell happened to our offense down the stretch, learn from it and move on. Let's win out and hopefully we see the Bulldogs on Sunday in St. Louis. Good to have an intense rivalry like this.

Des Moines Register:"...evidence pointed to a gun being fired in one room and that bullet traveling through a wall to hit the student, who was in another room. Murphy was charged two weeks later."

Murphy's best shot until yesterday's clock-beating circus shot from the corner.

(I think/hope it was Murphy)

I can live with losing but the way we lost fucking sucks. Both at the macro level of having yet another long offensive dry spell and at the micro level of having our game winning ATO play being a Braden Norris drive to the rim.

I believe the wall was called for a moving screen so Murphy's shot was disallowed...

Just watching the game on TV, you could tell things were chippy in both games. On Saturday, you could see the Drake players trying to get a rise out of Williamson and Clemons. Penn was trying the Darrell Brown move of dribbling and jerking his head back from the defender like there had been contact made. On Sunday, there was one good TV shot of Penn jawing at Williamson.

Krut got a nice basket on a spin move down the lane on Saturday and made the shush gesture-- you never see him get emotional or showy. When Drake started to make their comeback on Sunday with a couple of steals and quick baskets, Sturtz was on the bench holding back players for effect....

But here's the thing.... when they're asked about the scuffle and one coach blames the other team and the other team's coach says he "wasn't sure what happened".... you can draw your own conclusions. Also some posts on Twitter say racial and homophobic slurs were launched in the altercation.
