Now they're angry that we're not Creighton. They're not angry at Creighton for leaving, or any of the 8 teams that have been in the MVC for 20 years and haven't stepped up to replace Creighton despite being in the league for 20+ years, they're angry at us.

Yes, we SUCKED and totally embarrased ourselves in the non-con season. We all have to admit it-- we did, no question. But the non-con schedule this year was a legacy of being in the Horizon League, and there wasn't much we could do about it other than not folding in the second half over and over.

I hope this game was a breakout game for us, in which we finally figure out how to win. I'm very sorry that we didn't figure it out sooner, as a Loyola fan and for the sake of league RPI, but there's not much we can do about it now. I guess we were expected to lay down for the conference season since we sucked in the non-con.

So I decided to venture over to the MVC board to see what you guys were talking about…. Wow. You weren’t kidding when you said it is a totally different world over there. All 63 did was make a valid point in Loyola’s defense, and they jumped all over him with crazy comments. I especially felt bad for the one individual who obviously had a flashback from when he had to take his “retarded cousin” to the prom…

It’s funny that people got mad that we beat MSU. You can’t have it both ways. If all you do is bitch about how crappy we are, then you better be damn sure that the majority of teams in the conference can pound us. I don’t think 63 gloated or boasted… Loyola fans didn’t make a claim about how sweet we are. These fans are insane.

If you go over there and read some of those posts it really fires you up to hope Loyola can step their game up and beat as many teams as possible in the league…

I really hope Porter can build on this. Great win for us!

The folks over at the other board see things in binary...they either are or they aren't. There are no shades of grey to them.

Such is life.

He really goes out of his way to break those stereotypes.

Congrats on the win, ignore the valley fans that want you to lose. This league is big on protecting the favorite but you owe know one. Wish we would have played better, wish we would have played with effort. In the end it always ends in a loss, congrats on your first league win.

This is a real change in culture. Two games in a row now that we reacted well to runs by the other team. ISU just about had put us away with a 10-0 run and we stopped their momentum and almost got back in the game. MSU made a little run to cut it to 12 in the second half and we broke them and just wiped them out after that. The Bears will look bad in the overall stats but they weren't playing that badly until the last 10 minutes or so when they missed every kind of shot imaginable. I don't know what's going on, but bottle it. Maybe it's Johnson, but everybody contributed today.

Thanks Bear. I have to say that it is a pleasant change for us LU fans to listen to the opposition call and hear a respectful, generally neutral, tone. Your kind post only adds to the good opinion that I am developing of MSU.

I'm sure your Bears will have revenge on the brain when we play next month.

LOL!

At first I wasn't certain where he was going with the analogy, but I think your assumption is probably correct!

It's tough growing up in Kansas.

I respect this comment. It appears sincere.

Thanks, Bear-Nation, for showing some class and sportsmanship.

All the credit to the ramblers. We didn't play well defensively and you made us play. When we cut the lead to 12 I figured we would go back to our studs. We didn't and the rest was a really embarrassing performance. The road is tough in this league and wins are scarce. Keep progressing and you guys will be a handful down the road.

I just wanted to say congrats on your first Valley win, and in epic fashion! I have yet to see the Ramblers play but I am looking forward to seeing the on-court product, and I do mean that sincerely!

By the way, that was my retarded cousin by marriage on the MVC board, and as it turns out, we had a great time at the dance! ;)

Good luck the rest of the way!
