Coming into the game, our RPI was 230, Michigan State was 108, and UTSA was 211. With the win, we're up to 67, Michigan State is up to 31, and UTSA is down to 325.

The Valley had a really good night-- Bradley beat Texas A&M-Corpus Cristi, Drake beat IUPUI, and Northern Iowa beat Virginia Tech by 19. Evansville lost to HL favorite Green Bay by 2. At the beginning of the day the Valley was ranked as #14 conference, and after tonights games it's #9, ahead of the A-10, Mountain West, American, and Horizon. C-USA is #18.

The Valley is 21-14 against non-con teams. Looks like the MAC is going to be strong this year, with Bowling Green doing some damage early. It would be nice if we could replicate the effort tonight against Kent State on Saturday.

Ha, that's a little ridiculous, but I'll take it.

86 - Are you saying that PM got Comcast to pick up the game?

Go Ramblers!!!

I was actually fortunate enough to be at the game last night with my son and 2 other family members. Coincidentally, my in-laws live in San Antonio and we had made plans earlier in the year to go there for Thanksgiving.

Campus - Unfortunately, between construction on the expressway and getting lost, we didn't get to UTSA early enough to check out the campus. What we did see was very very nice. All of the staff/employees were amazingly friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, their student fan base has a lot in common with ours. While we were trying to find the arena, we stopped a student walking down the sidewalk and asked them where the Convocation Center was. I got the blankest stare, I've ever seen... I followed that by, "You know..where the basketball game is tonight!" The guy responded, "I have no idea...I just come her for class and than go home". So obviously basketball isn't a major part of student-life on campus, which as we all know is very unfortunate.

Convocation Center - This thing really needs to be torn down. Nice that nearly all of the chairs were seat backs, but that's about all the nice things that I could say about it. The food was quite comparable to The Joe (Popcorn, Basic Nachos, Popcorn, Candy, Water and Pop). But luckily it was a very very small crowd (had to be 300-500 people). If this place was even half full, I would still be in line this morning for my hotdog and sprite!

The game was great though... My 5 year old son had a blast at the game. He had to be the loudest fan in the entire gym. He loves the "DE-FENCE" chant!!! Also met the Crisman family at midway and than spoke with them more at the game. Joe's mom (I'm sorry I didn't catch your name) was the friendliest person that I've met in a very long time. Right away you could tell that they're great people and a great family. They're very supportive of Joe and the rest of the team.

So as some previous posters mentioned, hopefully this is a game we can build on. I believe that this one game shows that we are a better team than we were last year. I'm can easily envision how last year we would have lost this game. I think that with the addition of one or two mediocre big men, we could be a really solid team.

I was disappointed that Rajala didn't get in the game last night. Nice to see that White got in the game quite a bit... hopefully he's at 100% very soon. Go Ramblers!

Thanks for the report, Robbie. Nice to see that you're teaching your son to be a Rambler fan. It will build character through adversity.

He really likes his ramblers.... He was disappointed that Lou Wolf wasn't at the game though. I also had to explain to him why their mascot didn't want anything to do with him. I tried to upload a pic... but the file was to big... I'll try to work on that at a later time.

I am truly stunned that we had a decent sized contingent there, 1200 miles from Chicago. Official attendance was 839. The place seats 4080. I thought I heard some fans on TV cheering for Loyola, but I wasn't sure-- I thought they might have just been vocalizing disappointment at some of the tough shots we made under pressure. Now it makes sense.

I was also surprised by the loyola contingency there... I would say there was 30 people cheering for the maroon and gold. I honestly thought we would be the only 4.

I liked how Porter used patience and discipline regarding sitting Milton well before he got close to foul trouble. Turk also sat for a long period. Hopefully the same discipline can be shown during conference games allowing for fresh, rested legs. Especially Christian Thomas.

Well, Michael it apparently worked for two reasons--
---Our bench MUST be better than we or at least I thought and
---PM recognizes this bench of ours

One Gigantic WHOOP for going forward.

American Sport Channel signed Conf USA back in July. If my memory serves me right the tv possibility and the date is why Porter chose UTSA over some of other schools that were open. He has realized that Loyola doesn't have anyone involved that has the connections to help arrange scheduling. I thought the MSU game was a good arrangement too. We got 90k and TV exposure. The kids got to play in a big time college environment. That was Porter's doing also. In my opinion that's progress in the way he schedules. He still has a way to go but that's progress. He will face increasing pressure from Kelly through Watson to take more guarantee games, but 2 should be max.
