Chicago, and the Valley, would allow family and friends to witness many more games in person.
I still think having won an IHSA title and his recognition as an all state player could
bet be built upon in Chicago. Larger potential media coverage, especially as we
will be competitive in the Valley. Just how I see it.
Hope Mr Chastain sees it the same way...

There's also the difference of playing in the Pac 12 to the MVC. I don't know the kid or his talent level but playing in one of those larger conferences sometimes wins out over other things. But Utah is also a pretty good program.

More praise for Chastain.

I see that as a negative for us. Not because he'd come in at the top, but because it shows he wants to go to a tough situation and end up being the best. That points to Purdue and Utah.

Agreed. But I also think he's a humble kid. The one thing i hold onto is this article: http://www.pjstar.com/article/20160311/ ... 2/?Start=2

"Academics have never been a problem for the well-spoken kid whose parents run a consulting service for farmers.
'That’s the biggest part of my decision is the academic part of it,' he said. 'I want to go into business and would love to go to law school.'"

Loyola checks both those boxes plus the added business opportunities in Chicago for a post grad career. He seems to realize basketball isn't forever; which as far as I can tell we'd be on the top end of his options (Purdue has yet to offer, and I honestly don't know where Utah ranks). Plus given that we've been so quiet since Treyvon Andres verbally committed. I have to assume Porters really all in on trying to get him before moving to other targets.

Probably wishful thinking, but it's more fun that way.

Re: Andres. I don't think we're allowed to make any comment or statement about a verbal. We have to wait until we receive the LOI in the signing period.

Oh no I understand that they cannot comment on recruits until they sign. I was referring to how we haven't offered any more prospects since Andres verbally committed (at least publicly). Which may signal our main focus is on Chastain for the moment.

I hope Moser isn't putting all his eggs in one basket. We had a coach that would do that and it was great when he landed his top targets, but his plan B, C and D were brutal. Hopefully he's not sitting around and only putting pressure on Chastain because if he doesn't land him, he's given up opportunities to make progress with others. There's nothing wrong with having top targets, but you gotta keep working no matter what.

Well, Sub recruiting guards and threes are not problems for Moser--It is his weakness getting really good and big 4s and 5s. Our Valley partners have pretty darn good bigs.. Why not us ??? And as for kids choosing the Utahs and Perdues over us==well, that is on Moser and Watson as well--They must recruit against the aforementioned==That is one reason both arte at LUC. Its difficult BUT it must be done and successfully.
Tough biz out there but.....
