If it’s true that Freeman has mono, it’ll be interesting to see if he’s back by St Louis. And if he is, will he be full strength? Mono typically isn’t something you bounce back from in a week, is it?

Sam Darnold missed multiple weeks for the Jets with mono. I thought I had read somewhere that JFL was playing with mono for at least a week or two, but it has now gotten to the point where he can no longer go (maybe they had assumed it was the flu at first?). Was surprised to see them blow out a hot Missouri State team even without JFL (a few days after beating Bradley). They played us really tough both times. Would definitely feel a little more comfortable going against them without Freeman.

There was a net gain of 9 spots when Valpo blew out MO State yesterday.

As of yesterday we were 9 spots ahead of Bradley in NET rankings.
Could Bradley's NET go down after beating IL. State?

I don't know which is more reliable, Hacksaw's 10,000 computer simulations or ahunte's back-of-the-envelope noodling.

As of today, Loyola 98, Bradley 107.

Man, that is too close for comfort. I scrolled down the NET rankings and saw a few 10+ swings in a team's ranking from game to game.
Would it help to root for our non-con opponents in their games?

Would it help if they won? Maybe. Would rooting for them help? No, definitely not.

Were any of those games road wins/home losses?

This late in the year especially, it seems we haven’t moved much when we win at home or lose on the road. I don’t think we moved much even after we beat Northern Iowa.

Yeah, I think the only risk is losing by 10+ and it is slight. I say we just try to win.

Dont think it could hurt for all of the non-cons to win....but Vandy which is floating in the 150s would be nice.....How much does success vs the line figure in? Will be interested to see who is favored? Glad it is a 1 oclock game....as I am going and BU fans will not have had the time to get hammered...unless they are just rolling out of Big Als.

Wait, does this also apply to other Loyola fans who might be making the trip to Peoria? Asking for a friend...

You underestimate my psychokinetic powers. For example, right now I am using my mind to make you check Ramblermania at least five more times today.
I have no doubt you will comply.

I just had a great idea that will guarantee the second seed and give all our players time to rest and recover from injury.

Forfeit.

That's right. If the only way Bradley can nose us out for the second seed is by beating us by 10+ points and showing well on offensive and defensive metrics, why give them the chance?
The score for a forfeit is 2-0. And looking at the NCAA rules on forfeits and "no contests", it may be that this game won't even count at all in the NET Rankings.
I emailed Porter with this idea but haven't heard back yet. I'll let everybody know his response, but I strongly suspect he will follow my advise.
