Outstanding weekend run from Braden. Crazy to think he’s only a sophomore, dude is a GAMER. Tate’s kind of filled the Aher role from years past, while he’s not scoring he’s getting strong boards, making smart passes and diving on every loose ball. Love it!!!

Thoughts on the weekend:

Great job by LU this weekend. It was fun to see the return of the mid-season Ramblers who were playing free and loose on offense while maintaining the defensive edge. I loved Krut's quote after Indiana State about PM telling the group to "torch the nets" in St. Louis. We are, as the commentators alluded to, a dangerous team when we are shooting the 3. This is what was missing when we were struggling from the Drake OT loss through the end of the season. Our offense flow is nice when we take 3's and it opens up the lane. It stagnates when we pass up those shots and throw it to Krut and everyone stands still. Don't misinterpret what I am saying. Krut is a great player, one of the best to play at LU. However, we are just better when he is playing at high post and we are moving, cutting and passing the ball. Yesterday, we almost got into problems when we threw down to Krut 2 or 3 possessions in a row late in the game and he came up dry. In watching the reply, for those possessions we had 4 guys standing still. This is not our game. As a comparison, the 2018 team did score in the paint a little with Krut and Andre, but the run was made possible by good 3 point shooting. 2018 had guys who were fearless when it came to taking those 3's. This team showed a little of that this past weekend and my hope is that they slayed any demons regarding taking 3's.

I am glad the PM and his staff recognized that we needed to get back to mid-season offense and they were wise enough to turn loose all of our guys to shoot it.
