OK !! We were not embarrassed. This team is only --
--a little bit short
--a little bit young

Heart !! We played with Milton hurt and with Christian having a woeful night. Add two more to our growth- Earl and Jay.

I say this--Look out VALLEY we are arriving. BUT no question WSU was the better team this time ; but NOT for long.

Think on it, we played with a player out--well, he tried, but. Milt and Turk hobbled --I like our chances for a strong finish this year.

I am going to try to continue posting my postseason forecast in each game thread. After the victory over Evansville, I predicted: 60% CBI/CIT, 20% NIT, 15% No postseason (collapse), 5% March Madness. Not much change this week except a slightly lowered chance at March Madness:

CBI/CIT: 62.5%
NIT: 20%
No postseason: 15%
March Madness: 2.5% (to have any shot at an at-large, we can only lose one or two more games--small margin for error)

I honestly see you guys as a semifinal or even final team in St Louis this year. That is quite the jump in 1 year. I have watched a lot of valley ball thus far and when your shooters are on, which they are often, I see you as a top 3 team no doubt. Keep it rollin ramblers

Fun game. Especially the first half run. WSU shot 71% in the second half. That was less fun. We had precious few chances to make it a two possession game late, and we couldn't convert. Usually resulted in a three for WSU.

We pushed them pretty hard. I guess that's a plus. They couldn't put in any of their underclassmen for many minutes.

I feel bad that we let a great halftime lead disappear so quickly after they made adjustments at the half. James not playing in the second half hurt us. I think we'll do better against UNI at home.

In a sense we were playing with house money in this game because no one thought we'd win, and we beat Evansville on the road-- another unexpected result. Being 2-2 after the first 4 games we had is a slight plus. Now we have to put together some win streaks against lower teams in the league.

Amen to this. It's on to Drake now.

As Bill Belichick would say, "On to Drake."

They're not #15 by accident. They're a damn good, well-coached team. We knew that, so let's not get bummed out and keep our eyes on the prize.

Our goal this year is reaching the best postseason play we can get. We're still very healthy in the hunt for an NIT bid. No one thought it would even be possible at the tipoff of the first game. Focus game by game. We need to beat Drake next. It wouldn't hurt to beat them by 20, and get some banged-up players healthy.

It's our second year in this league. We've got crappy attendance. That place should have been full. We've got too many inexperienced players that we rely on, and we're going to get better as the year goes along. Stay with these guys...

This year we're going to bury the 30-year curse of no postseason play. Next season we begin as a top 4 team. The year after that, we're in contention for the top 3 in a two-bid or better league. Focus and build.

Cannot help but agree with 63--A few more points
--Wichita IS the best team now
--Marshall is one fine coach--He defensed us beautifully--even our under the basket in-bounds play was contested back by the mid-line--What other team did that to us ??
--We were NOT expected to do well this season--next one was to be the one.
--To those who think Porter cannot coach in this league--GET OVER IT !
Ifs and buts dept
--Martel hurt--hurt us--He gets well, look for big wins
--our Freshmen improving each game--eg--Jay and Earl !!
--Thomas will not have another poor game this year.
--Porter has these guys playing GREAT defense--Sign of a good Coach

I shall go out on a limb and say LUC 67 Drake 52 Worse if Montel is ready
