The Uguak issue is probably going to work itself out as the year goes on. When Frank is ready to back up Krut full time, that’ll open up the ability to use Welch as he should be used.

At this point - krutwig, Williamson, Kennedy, Hall, Woj, and i would even say Pipkins are more valuable to have on the floor than Uguak. In terms of production vs. minutes, I think he’s 7th on the depth chart. He’s not “bad,” but he’s not helping us, and with Frank and Clemons coming back, there is plenty of room to tinker with the lineup to put a more productive group on the floor. I haven’t given up completely on Aher, but once we are at full-strength I would like to see him coming off the bench and providing relief instead bring relied on to contribute out of the gate.

Oddly enough, it would have been nice to have Negron in the 4 spot this year...

This game is a disappointment because we are definitely a better team than South Florida. For whatever reason we fell apart in the second half. We are going to continue to get better. I’m still very optimistic despite the loss.

Free throws are driving me nuts though ....

What makes you say we are better than them? Their defense completely locked us down for the entire second half.

Krutwig is our best playmaker; but he’s also our best scorer as well. Without a true point he’s forced to do both, which kills us as he can’t always get that deep positioning. Really wish we had Keith or Braden available today. Need more from lucas or Uguak offensively to win games with our current line up.

Kennedy had a nice first half, gotta work on the free throws tho, we coulda cut the lead to 2 with about 3 minutes left if he didnt miss them both. Wojcik continues to impress.

Gotta learn to finish the good teams early. Wish I coulda seen the 3 at the end of the first half bu USF, radio made it sound extremely suspect.

We should've won this one. Can't go 10+ minutes without a field goal. I know having Kennedy on the bench with 4 fouls hurt, but you have to find a way to score. Does Clemmons help with that when he comes back? Thought Aher should've driven more, but he was invisible.

I want Uguak to do well but after 1 season and the games so far with the 'Blers, I haven't seen the consistent performance I'd expect from a veteran of the Moser system. He's an explosive player but unfortunately doesn't take control the way he's capable of doing. I'm not sure who we have to put in his place though..Clemons? Pipkins? PacSun? We need scorers who can defend on the opposite end

How about Tom Welch in his place, he hasn’t really been given that many opportunities yet.

I think we are a better team because we went through a 10 minute scoring slump and were still only down by 4 with 3 minutes left to play. I also think the foul disparity was not because we got hit less times going to the basket than we fouled them.

They were the better team today, but they didn’t blow me away, and if we played the game again I would still bet on us to win.

That loss hurt. We dominated the first 18 minutes of that game. USF hitting 2 3’s in the final 40 seconds of the first half sucked all the good out of the first half. I still don’t think USF got the shot off in time. There shouldn’t have been 2 full seconds added to the time. There was one ref who has atrocious. Every bad call Loyola got came from this guy, but Loyola didn’t adjust to his shitty calls. I’ll give USF credited. They made adjustments at half. They made a point to drive to the lane in the second half and were getting call after call and getting us in foul trouble. Defensively, they took advantage of the being able to commit second degree felonies on Krut in the high post and anytime Kennedy drove. Bottom line is we didn’t adjust. Didn’t respond to the physical play in the second half. USF played like a physical Valley team in the second half, and we didn’t respond. Still have an opportunity to come out of the Caymans with 2 wins. Colorado St is a very physical team. Will be a good challenge. Let’s hope we get the other officiating crew down here tomorrow.

Growing pains.
Some bad calls.
Lots of talent and depth.
We WILL BE GOOD! AND THIS YEAR!
A great first ten minutes.
A bad last ten minutes.
We were down only four at 54-50 and Kennedy at the line.
Missed both and then had the ball stolen on the next possession.

Definitely growing pains. Great to see Clemmons in uniform today. Doubt he plays here, but hopefully will be good to go by the Quincy game

The Westin has a very generous 4 hour happy hour from 5:00-9:00 every night. Doesn’t leave a lot of time for dinner, but food isn’t necessary in the Caymans.
