I was thinking about this a couple days ago, and decided to start a thread to see if I'm just weirder than everyone else. I consider myself a pretty rational guy, believing in science, statistics, facts, etc. But I have a superstition when it comes to Loyola games.
I sometimes use a lucky ritual of buying a Chipotle burrito before the game, and wolfing it down before the tipoff. I started doing it way back in the Farmer days, I think, when I got a burrito before a game we weren't supposed to win, and the team surprised me with a W. I was still doing it last spring, when I got a burrito before the men's volleyball semi-final and national championship games.
I tried the burrito charm before the Tulane game this year-- but the line was too long at the Chipotle on Sheridan, and I couldn't get my burrito before tipoff. I waited in line (nearly out the door), and gave up when I was still 20 feet back in the line 3-5 minutes before tipoff. I went back at halftime and got my burrito, but we were already behind by 12 points or so by the time I finished it. We lost that game even though we were favored.
Anybody else have lucky superstitions?
