I would expect that the last scholarship would be announced in the next week. This is the last weekend where he coaches can go out and recruit. After this weekend, the recruits would have to come on campus. With the Custer signing and with Custer not being eligible to play, I would think getting a guard would be a higher priority because Turk, White and Peterson are all gong to be seniors and with Doyle just one hard hit away from season ending surgery, it would seem to make more sense to recruit a young guard. But that's why I watch the games from the stands. What do I know? |

The last signing is a juco point guard. So you can take a deep breath again. This source has never let me down or I would not have posted it. |

I figured you had some inside information when you made your initial post, but you were a little coy about it. The odds-on favorite is Marcus Johnson, Jr.. According to Rivals, he visited Loyola on April 10 and UIC yesterday (4/24). Judging by the timing of streak's second post, Johnson may have committed to Loyola following his UIC visit. All speculation on my part, of course. There's some info on Johnson in the Roosevelt Smart thread. On edit: Just saw on The Mysterious Australian thread that streak said the juco recruit was from Maryland. Marcus Johnson, Jr. is from North Carolina, so the suspense continues... |

Actually Swella, you and JCT are two of the smartest people I have met, far smarter than I. I just happen to talk to enough people to put a couple of things together. But I also look for at least two confirmations. I happened to be on campus Thursday night and there was a lot going on in the athletic department. I do not need to be first but I do want to be accurate. |

Custer does use up a scholarship even though he is not eligible. The staff has been and is now focused on the following year. |

Is he originally from Maryland or is the Juco he goes to in Maryland? |

JUCO school. I don't have the name of the player. Thought the school was in Baltimore. |
