Per Twitter, sound like Coach Robinson is headed to Iowa State. Best of luck to him. A great guy. He will be missed. I wonder if Porter will promote Bryan Mullins or hire a more experienced assistant. |

Robinson is going to be an assistant coach at Iowa State. He served a previous stint in Ames as an assistant from 2008-2010. There has been a large turnover in assistant coaches under Moser, but I don't think Moser is at fault here. As for a replacement, I wouldn't mind seeing Mullins being promoted from Director of Basketball Operations, although that would leave the staff without an assistant to mentor the bigs. |

swella, I'm surprised you didn't propose Craig Robinson. If we want to keep assistants longer, we need to pay more. Otherwise it's just a stepping stone position. |

Well. my take is this--We are fast becoming competitive on the court and we now have an upgraded schedule. We must . if need be upgrade our Hoops budget to compete as well--Now then, it will be difficult to match the Stae U's moneywise but we must try as do other Private schools. Another thing --Other schools just might view PM as a good HEAD Coach who is also proficient in developing his assistants. He will find someone capable--BUT we must pay him well. |

It will always be a stepping stone position. Even when we're paying a lot and very successful, our assistants will still be hired away as head coaches. WSU is having a lot of its assistants poached for head coaching jobs-- Chris Jans last year at Bowling Green and Steve Forbes this year at East Tennessee. But pay is probably a key factor when assistants are leaving in the middle of growing success to be assistants at other schools. |

Good for him! The guy really cares about the players and he'll be hard to replace. He was working with the big guys at Halas last Saturday and when I talked to him about next season I thought he seemed a little bit disengaged. I guess maybe he was. |
