Hard to find fault with John's Preview. It will be a six team top tier. I really feel that the RAMBLERS will finish better than 4th , but that will take sweeps against teams 7 8 9 and 10. Difficult but doable. Now then I do look for an upset of a higher eschelon sp) team --pick a sweep of one of these-- It will all depend on a tad better play from our starters over last year and the quick development of our Newbies. The new rules should help rather than hurt our guys. Ill St and Ind St could have some trouble with these same rules. We and the League are catching up to the Shockers , but not ready as yet. It will be happening soon $th is good but I think 3rd with outside chance of the PLACE !!! |

Good analysis JCT. I agree on 4th place. I hope for better but see that as a realistic finish. A CIT or CBI season is very probable. |

JCT, Great season preview, its nice to have legit expectations for this program. If I were a betting man Id put money on them finishing 4th but I really believe they can get into the top 3 & with a strong showing get a NIT bid. |

I think if we don't get to the NIT, this season may be viewed as a disappointment. |

A CBI/CIT season the prior year does not equal NIT or higher the following year. Look at previous CBI/CIT teams, sure some do but the majority do not. Moreover the NIT is very hard to get into with the new rules (auto bids for conf. champs that do not get in the ncaa, etc.). |

Moreover the NIT is very hard to get into with the new rules (auto bids for conf. champs that do not get in the ncaa, etc.). I understand that. But look at what this team did last year. All things being equal, if we do not progress "forward," I view it as a failure. Being stagnant is not what I want. I don't want to continue to be relegated to the bottom two tournaments. Look at the fields for the CBI and CIT last year. Bigger name schools are turning down invites. They'd rather sit at home. Last year, playing in the CBI was exactly what we needed. It helped the team mesh, it helped the team grow, and it gave the team post season experience. Think back to Blake and Majak's senior year. What were the expectations? What ended up happening? That season was a disappointment and if we relegate ourselves to the CBI or CIT again this year, it will be a disappointment as well. |

I'll be surprised if you aren't in the top 3. I'll also be surprised if UE is. They are still coached by Marty. But that's a good preview of the season. I'm anxious to see you guys play. The NIT, or with a few bounces your way, an NCAA are within reach. I believe that. Take care of your non-con and both are achievable. Hopefully the top of the Valley does the same so we are boosted by playing each other and eliminate the hits we will take from playing the bottom 3. |
