Between assistant coaching gigs at five schools, Moser was the head coach at Arkansas-Little Rock for three years and Illinois State for four years. But he counts his time working for Majerus as some of the most significant of his career.
“I can’t even tell you the impact he had on me,” Moser said. “I got to sit with him for four years and five meals a day talking ball. It was the factors of building (a program) and his attention to detail. Believe it or not, he was very patient in how he wanted to build SLU. He didn’t want to skip steps. His affect one me was extremely profound.”
Moser said he has two hand-written letters he received from Majerus in his first season at Loyola and reads them regularly.
“It was all about sticking with your vision and it’s going to pay off,” he said.
