Great first half , as it should be. Doyle is a presence by merely being on the court--This is working as we have so many guns. Our defense so far is stifling--Nice !!

TURK--Just superb !

Now then the only worry-some things are NO HEIGHT and NO FANS. Credit to PM and the team for not being discouraged because of no fans. SHAME ON THEM

GO RAMBLERS !!

Good first half. WIU is a decent team (winning on the road at Wisconsin isn't easy). Great to see a good first half offensively. It feels like it's been a while since that's happened.

On a side note, someone should tell the TV crew we're not the only MVC team playing tonight. SIU is playing at SLU, with SLU leading by two at halftime. SIU has gotten off to a good start record-wise, but they haven't played the best schedule. Both the Salukis and Ramblers playing two good teams to finish non-conference, though.

Milt's shot just not falling tonight.

And our lack of killer instinct lets WIU right back in the game.

Well that was too close at the end but we ended up with the win. Non conference hasn't gone how we wanted but I'm thinking we are going to have a strong season in conference.

Loyola shot 50% from the field and did a nice job keeping WIU off the foul line. Western was 8 of 9 on free throws, so they're now 0-4 when they shoot fewer than 12 freebies.

Western outrebounded the Ramblers 36-28, hit 52% on three pointers (11 of 21), and got 14 more field goal attempts. Almost every time an opponent does something like that, they're going to beat you. But good inside defense forced WIU to hit only 33.3% of their two point shots from the field. Keeping them off the line and working for good shots is the way to beat WIU. The team did a great job, and got the W. Fantastic games by James, Turk, and Ingram.

We should have put this bunch away after the technical--We did not. Lack of height and three point D almost did us in. No glory here except the win of course. James and Turk with a dash of Smith saved us. Milton is plainly in a scoring slump.
