He IS improving--
--As I stated, he is NOW getting in the way on Defense as it were.
--He does get a board or two
--Looks a tad beefier

I caught a little thing that to me means a lot--The tv camera caught a close up of him--HE was looking the opponent right in the eye--He was ready, it told me.
The kid just might be coming on a tad.

I hate to say this, but...Rajala looks like the type of big a 2nd tier, mid conference team would have. He's ok, but nothing more.

Rambler-Bambler !! Correct, but then , this IS what this team actually is--a mid Conf at best. BUT , when he came to us , he had little if anything--All I am saying is, he IS on the improve.
Next game will tell a lot.

He's 2/3 through his sophomore season, in a year where even merely competent big men are at a premium, and he can already (right now) help us. His main shortcomings-- I think-- are toughness, and some finer points. Start looking at him to play 14 minutes instead of 9, and get him some game time. Concentrate on him helping to bust the zone, for starters. Just being there, he shakes things up.

I think he has the talent and coordination to work the high-low right now, which would put a hole in the defenses that are killing us offensively. He also causes matchup problems for guard-heavy teams, and just causing different looks is worthwhile. He's not Seth Tuttle or Mockevicius, but he's already better than most 2nd string big men in the league. In five games of league play (no court time against Indiana State), he's averaging 3 points and 2.4 rebounds in 11 minutes per game-- and he hasn't missed a shot from the field. He had two blocks in 9 minutes against Bradley, and six points in 10 minutes against SIU.

Rajala James and Ingraham in back with Milt and Earl at guard (interchangeable at point) with Smith Turk then Kiki and Kirby as needed--Yikes who am I forgetting ?
If any two start hitting we could go on a run---As we all know we can play D as witnessed the latest games. Say Milt and Earl go off early , we will be in great shape--I feel. Rajala's success is key as it opens up all sorts of good stuff offensively.

BTW I do not feel he hurt us on D while he was in there---(86 ?????)

You know, this upset at Cedar Falls may NOT have been an upset at all !!
