OK, so it was a great game. 2OT, W. Televised.... So afterwords I was listening to the radio , specifically the SCORE, "Chicago's sports station" I had it on till about 8PM. Around 6:00 there was no mention of the game on their "Updates" I called the station, just to show you how fervent I can get, and pointed out that the last six updates were the same, including reports about Johnny Manziel, NFL domestic violence, the DePaul loss, nothing on LU. I told them that Chicago's sports station should cover Chicago sports, at least mention the scores regularly. I would think a 100 point game with 2 OT deserves a mention. The gentleman said he would pass it on to Julie, who was doing the updates and was also one of the anchors at the time. Nothing.... She even went into a segment about a Murder reality show, just because "it was slow night in local sports".... I say WTF? The fact that I gave her a heads up and chance to fix this, and was just ignored..... We shall overcome...... Go Ramblers. |

I've long believed that their agreement to broadcast DePaul games has an either implied or express stipulation that they do as little as possible to promote or cover the other city schools. |

If Loyola threw them any advertising you would hear us on their updates. Seems like that's just how it is. Whatever -- how many people still listen to radio ? I find it pretty obsolete now. If you're s fan of Loyola, you probably got the score updates on your phone, and if you're not -- you probably don't care that they beat Indiana State... Or even that they played them ... I don't think a score update is really added "publicity." I understand the frustration, but I'm more concerned with wins. It it was our 8th or 9th win in a row, I'm sure it would have got mentioned. We need to keep winning to make people pay attention. |

I was thinking the same thing at first that this game will get a lot of coverage. However since it didn't I can understand why. It was great win but from a team that is 3-7 in conference play. |
